Trump is still going to have to answer for sending fake electors and if he manages to get by that, he still has to answer for removing the classified material to his private residence.

After all that, he still has to answer for the Dominion lawsuits. :)

"And you are going to find that they are — which is totally illegal — it is more illegal for you than it is for them because, you know, what they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal, that’s a criminal offense. And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. And that’s a big risk. But they are shredding ballots, in my opinion, based on what I’ve heard. And they are removing machinery, and they’re moving it as fast as they can, both of which are criminal finds. And you can’t let it happen, and you are letting it happen. You know, I mean, I’m notifying you that you’re letting it happen. So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state."

You are talking to people who say that "And I'll be there with you" doesn't actually mean that he'd be there with them. Trump supporters always deny that Trump meant what he said when it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge his words. The quickest way to get a Trump supporter to screech "FAKE NEWS" into the sky while stamping their feet on the ground is just to directly quote Trump.

That’s not asking to falsify votes. You JUST quoted him saying that the trump campaign WON the state. There’s nothing anywhere about him asking to falsify anything.

The ENTIRE rest of the conversation is about how trump and the republicans won the state of Georgia and that the count which Raff was producing was inaccurate. He’s not asking to falsify anything. He’s asking to find LEGITIMATE votes. Which was what the ENTIRE conversation was about.

Furthermore, the claim that he threatened the SOS with criminal charges for not fabricating them is ridiculous. You JUST quoted him where he said that the democrats are shredding votes and THAT is a criminal offense and Raff allowing that is a criminal offense.

Nowhere does he threaten Raff with criminal charges for not falsifying votes.

How can you read and quote that and then make an assertion that is DEMONSTRABLY fallacious with the EXACT words you just quoted?

    Oh, one other thing....

    SNIP
"As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Graham was well within his rights to discuss with state officials the processes and procedures around administering elections. Should it stand, the subpoena issued today would erode the constitutional balance of power and the ability of a Member of Congress to do their job," the statement said.
    ENDSNIP

I defy anybody to show me this "duty" as a member of that committee (search for the word 'election')

    https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/about/jurisdiction

Not to mention that he's NOT the freaking Chairman of the SJC.... He's not even the ranking member... Does MAGA not proofread their legal filings anymore??

There are two main reasons, imo.
First, some people have been conditioned to believe "the others" are trying to destroy America and are evil, so they are going to be locked in on a candidate or party that they view as fighting the evil.
The other is that many people are sick of the same old sleazy seeming politicians and Trump represents a fresh, non politician for them to hang their hopes on, a little like Perot but with a much bigger personality.
They think Trump is better than the "normal" politician, and I understand that completely.
Problem is, they had a good idea, but picked the wrong person.

Most of Trump supporters are blindly following, either by ignorance or intentionally.
When Trump says or does something stupid, they are immediately sent into protection mode, and basically ignore logic. You see it with parents who just don't want to see how their sweet little Bobby has become a juevenile delinquent.

Now this is an accurate assessment. I’ll add something though if you don’t mind.

There is a certain segment (I believe to be rather large) of the conservative population who believes that the republicans have been weak and that their willingness to compromise with the left has been excessively detrimental to the party, the country and its people. We have been led by relatively weak conservative republicans who have been far too willing to get punched in the mouth by their democrat opponent and then refuse to punch back. Moreover, after they get punched by the democrats and the democrats REFUSE to compromise in ANY way, the republicans are FAR too willing to compromise away any and every portion of our position in order to attempt to silence the accusations by the democrats.

In short, the Republican Party has been led by a bunch of weak kneed ******* who would rather capitulate than fight and who will fold like a cheap suit at the first sign of serious opposition and accusations.

We picked Donald Trump because he’s a fighter. Because he will fight to the very end, he will not compromise to the detriment of his position, he will not back down to the most vile and virulent attacks that the democrats can give. He will stand there and he will take every punch they give him and more importantly, he will start throwing punches back.

That’s why we put him into office the first time and it’s why we will put him back in office in 2024. Because we have suffered enough. It is time for the left to suffer.

You’re doing exactly what you’re accusing us of. Just for the other side.

Put yourself in a court room on a jury and listen to that conversation with Trump and Raff again. The lawyer for Trump is going to point out that the context of the discussion between the two is that Trump believes Raff is using an inaccurate count. He will point to the at least 6 times Trump referred to this during the phone call. He will point out how trump said he wanted find votes out of the hundreds of thousands of LEGITIMATE votes which Trump believes he had.

On what grounds can you assert that ANY unbiased person on a jury would listen to that conversation and believe that Trump was telling someone to fabricate votes?

It would never EVER hold up in court. If it was just Random Person A talking to Random Person B and the call wasn’t permeated by all this hatred for trump… Nobody would assert that one of those persons was asking to fabricate votes. They would say he was trying to get him to find enough legitimate votes so that he would win. Which is exactly what happened on that phone call.

Giuliani and Eastman attorney client privilege Graham is telling them to take a hike.

Senator Graham says he will not cooperate with Georgia Trump election probe
...Senator Graham plans to go to court, challenge the subpoena, and expects to prevail," attorneys Bart Daniel and Matt Austin said in a statement made on behalf of Graham.

They said Graham was "well within his rights to discuss with state officials the processes and procedures around administering elections."...

....Graham's attorneys said in the statement that the senator was being called as "simply a witness" in what they called "a fishing expedition."

"Any information from an interview or deposition with Senator Graham would immediately be shared with the January 6 Committee," they said.

I read the entire transcript, and listened to it, and my take (my opinion) is that Trump was trying to convince Raff that there was widespread, massive fraud, trying to coerce him into at least stopping the electoral process for the state of Georgia. After Trump was shot down, even gently by his own people, he resorted to bringing up that he was putting Raff on notice that what Raff was doing was going to cause him legal trouble. If you believe that's acceptable behavior from ANY American, good luck to you. Trump wanted to negate the voters in Georgia's who voted for Biden.
Whether Trump thought in his feeble mind that there was rampant fraud in Georgia is irrelevant. There is no excuse for attempting to subvert what many believe is the freedom to vote and have fair elections.
If you read the transcript, let alone any other official findings, there is no reason to believe that there was widespread voter fraud, at least enough to make a difference.
Just because I believe some fact to be true doesn't mean it's ok to do anything wrong or illegal.
Personally, I think he'll skate on this, probably because it's such a close call, and action against an ex-president is rare and probably avoided if it can be. Sorry, just being real.
BUT, that doesn't negate Trump's absolute disregard for not only the law, or constitution, but the American people. If you think it's ok to disregard the will of the people in an election regardless of party affility, I hope there aren't many more like you.

    Don't mind one bit.
I can understand everything you said, but the last part. The objective should never be payback.
It's why the middle east can never really get along. Anyone at any time can claim foul.
We need to keep in mind that most of the goals of all Americans are the same.

I agree with your reasoning about how Trump was elected. And it did throw a monkey wrench in the "system", and I hoped he would straighten up and soberly take on the responsibilities, but he never really did that, imo.
I agree with the reasoning, disagree on the candidate selected.

Let’s see if you actually believe that disregarding the will of the people is a problem.

Ever heard of Windsor? The lesser known of the two gay marriage court cases from earlier in the decade. Windsor came about because in 2008 the people of California voted on an amendment to their constitution which explicitly denied gay marriage and defined marriage in the state of California as being between one man and one woman.

The Libs didn’t like that ruling. So they took them to the SCOTUS and the SCOTUS struck down the vote of the people even though there was absolutely zero legal justification for doing so. Sexuality was not a protected class and precedent at the Supreme Court had already determined that gay marriage was not a right.

So tell me. Since you seem to hate government officials striking down the will of the people… should that have occurred?

It's at least one false statement, probably two, in a legal filing.... Glad you support that... Good to know for the future...
