    Right now, this hour: a meeting of the ministers of 40 countries has started at the Rammstein base in Germany to discuss the provision of weapons to Ukraine to counter the Russian Federation.

    Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover are cutting the majority of employees in Russian Federation
    Volvo Cars and Jaguar Land Rover, following General Motors, are reducing their Russian offices — JLR is actually leaving the Russian Federation, leaving only the staff who will coordinate administrative interactions at the stage of closing the legal entity.

    Ukraine is making the following claim. This is not yet supported by independent journalism, but I am more than sure that it will be:

    Russian invaders threaten women to shoot their children if they refuse to report the positions of the Ukrainian military

    Here is how the ruse is supposed to work:

    "A terrible situation is happening in Rubizhne. Russian militaries steal children, and then they force women, their mothers, to go to the positions of the Ukrainian military forces ... to take some humanitarian kits or food, then go back and tell how the positions of the Ukrainian defenders are equipped. If women refuse to do it, they threaten to shoot their children"

    If this is true, this is among the worst of all possible war crimes and those Russian soldiers who have murdered innocent Ukrainian children in this way must be found and put to death.

    Ukraine update: The counteroffensive at Kherson is very, very real

    Yesterday’s update included a map of the Kherson area, so it may seem too early to be hitting it again. We’re hitting it again. That’s because on Monday, Ukrainian forces reportedly liberated the town of Kyselivka.

    In the last census, Kyselivka had a population of just over 2,500. Compared to the Russian capture of a town like Severodonetsk (pop. 101,000 before the invasion), this may not seem like that big a deal. And it’s not—this isn’t the capture of a major city. However, Kyselivka is important because it was one of the points where Russian forces had dug in, fortified the area, and established a line that Ukrainian forces had been unable to budge in weeks of fighting. Now that line is broken. . . .

Russian and Ukrainian sources reported that Ukrainian strikes on a Russian base in Kherson City on July 10 killed 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division Commander Colonel Aleksei Gorobets, 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division Deputy Commander Colonel Sergey Kens, and 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division Deputy Artillery Commander Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Gordeev.[34] Ukrainian sources reported the strikes also killed 22nd Army Corps Chief of Staff Major General Artyom Nasbulin, though Russian sources have not confirmed that loss as of this publication.[35] The Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) intercepted a call in which a Russian serviceman claimed that a Ukrainian strike on the main Russian command post in Kherson Oblast killed 12 servicemen but did not specify the location of the command post.[36] . . .     No retreat, no surrender.
    Ukraine Foreign Minister Rejects Ceding Territory. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Wednesday that Kyiv will not cede territory as part of a peace deal with Russia and says that no peace talks are currently underway with Moscow. He added that Ukraine’s objective in the war is to “liberate our territories, restore our territorial integrity, and full sovereignty” in occupied areas. Reuters

    Ukraine continues to integrate with NATO standards.....much of its military structure now is switched to NATO equipment....old unreliable Soviet equipment is quickly being phased out.

    One more step towards NATO member.
