I ignore you because you have nothing to say. But this takes the biscuit. The stupidity of Syrian attacks has actually increased the threat of terrorism. The stupidity of Americans is something to behold. But fair play, we have Blair

Russia got involved in Sept of 2015.. Our participation was actually quite limited.

So how do you think the US engineered the drought in Syria?

Provide an answer. How many Syrians have died because of American bombing?

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimates 10,000 dead in US air strikes, though it says less than 3000 were civilians & it is impossible to quantify how many of the fighters killed were Syrian & how many were foreign. It gives a figure of 15,000 dead in Russian bombing.

Airwars gives a lower figure for both in terms of claims and 'confirmed' deaths, with Russia still higher. It estimates somewhere over 6000 deaths for US bombing.

The 2% figure was a 'back of the envelope' calculation & may actually be unfair to the US depending on how many people the Syrian government has killed. I was working off an estimate of 300,000, but the figure may be a bit higher or lower depending on whether or not you choose the UN figure, SOHR figure or Syrian Centre for Policy Research, which gives the highest figure of all (it is based in Damascus & doesn't break down the figure any further).

So maybe the figure is 3% or even 5%. It is a drop in the bucket compared to what the Syrian Government has done, and the US is far more discerning & open about who it bombs. No barrel bombs or chemical weapons. These are the people Russia is spending its limited resources to help. Its safe to assume there won't be a lot of money for the rebuilding.

You don't seem too concerned over the "over 6000 deaths for US bombing" estimate. And what do the death toll trends look like? Is it correct that 16% of civilian deaths were the result of the international coalition in December (double that of the Russians)?

so what if we are concerned or not? the issue is what do you want to do about Syria? Does the liberal have a peace plan or is he just gasing again???

Since most of the 6000 were fighters in Islamist groups and the Syrian government has killed hundreds of thousands of civilians then no, I'm not that concerned. If that is what concerns you then I would suggest your priorities are being driven by something other than a genuine concern for the wellbeing of Syrians.

So you're not going to worry about the coalition killing double the civilians of Russia in December? Oh well, enjoy your moral code!

    No barrel bombs?
    But MOAB's rock.

    Geez.

Barrel bomb = small compared to cruise missile.

OMG a barrel bomb!!! Dirty bastards. With their cheap unsophisticated bombs.
Our smart bombs cure the sick when they land. Feed the poor.

    Numbers? Sources?

You are now reduced to defending your 'moral code' on the basis of one month's figures in a 6 year war that carefully exclude the major combatant. That isn't a moral code, its a debating tactic. If you want to obsess about the 1-5% who are killed & ignore the rest then be my guest. I can live with being on my side of that argument any day.

When was a MOAB last used on a civilian target? Date & death toll with sources would be nice (though unlikley)

Cruise missiles are directed weapons. They are designed to hit a specific designated target - something identified as an 'enemy' target. Barrel bombs are packed with shrapnel and dropped from helicopters on civilian targets. That is their purpose - to kill & terrorize people who can't shoot back.

Your bombs are aimed at military targets & generally hit them. Those cheap unsophisticated bombs are a weapon of terror & mass murder, which helps to explain why Assad has killed so many hundreds of thousands more people.

I also mentioned chemical weapons, which have been used for the same purpose here. You dodged that one, predictably enough.

Reaganomics didn't even achieve supply-side economics. It was boringly inefficient Military Keynesianism. It doesn't surprise me that the free marketeers have to look for overseas countries to peddle the ideological claptrap

Most importantly, Reagan believed in capitalism and is beloved because he did. What a president can actually accomplish in a very very divided country is a totally different matter. I don’t know whether that too subtle for you to grasp?
