Russia wanted Trump to win the election

Facebook inadvertently spread Russian propaganda, some of it explicitly anti-Clinton, and this has come into focus this month. On Thursday, the company pledged to hand 3,000 Russia-linked ads over to Congress, and it announced a nine-point plan in response to election interference.

Of course, Trump calls it all a hoax, but on this issue no one is listening to him anymore, not Congress, not the special prosecutor, not the FBI, not the CIA, and not the DNI.

All this begs a question.

Never mind whether the Russian interference was effective or not. That is not the issue.

No one is questioning the legitimacy of the election. That is not the issue.

Readers must ask themselves, why did Russia want Trump to be our next President?

 

Is anti Clinton the same as pro Trump? Of course not. They just didn't want the war monger in charge.

 

Registering more dead voters will probably be a better strategy at this point then using "derp Russia" to convince Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wisconsin to vote for you guys.

Americans want real leaders in charge of this country. It's an important job. And competing with Alex Jones for the biggest conspiracy theorists isn't the best way of convincing them that you guys are up for the task.

 

We only had two choices, Clinton or Trump. If an ad was anti-Clinton, that obviously helped Trump.

It should bother you that I had to explain the obvious.

You seem oblivious to this development. You didn't know that those ads were bought by the Russians to help the Trump campaign? Wow!

Perhaps you thought the anti-Clinton ads were designed to help the Clinton campaign.

 

Hillary would have embraced the Soviet Union. But Russia? Nyet!

 

There is a significant distinction between the 2. Pro Trump means he was singled out to help, which is looking more and more likely. Anti Clinton wpul d simply be targeting Clinton, regardless of who her opponent was.

A possibility although there was never any evidence of Clinton's interference, just her displeasure with the results. There are reams of evidence for the Russian interference. Putin used this as an excuse for his support of Trump.

More than likely Putin's motivation had something to do with Trump’s budding bromance with Vladimir Putin — the two men have exchanged admiring words about each other. Would you care for some examples? I have plenty.

So, again the question is, why did Putin want Trump as the next President. The question has nothing to do with Clinton and an unproven allegation five years earlier. That is a myth promulgated by Trump supporters.

Clinton is also accused of failing in her attempts to reset relations between the U.S. and Russia. You can't have it both ways.

 

Being a product of one's environment is one of the most intellectually lazy things a person can be.

E.g. a Muslim in the Middle East, a Catholic in Mexico, or a liberal in the Greater Los Angeles area

 

It's no myth Puttin blamed Hillary and it was not even reported on by the right. Heck even politico reported it. What you are trying to suggest their is something more makes you sound like Hillary.

Other than bumper sticker logic, there is no rationale that would show Putin wanted Trump to be president over Hillary.

 

Actually, we had plenty of choices for President. We just didn't choose anyone but the two. OUR decisions, do not mean another decision didn't exist. And on that note, in spite of the Russian Propaganda. Hillary won the NATL vote, correct? So it's not like Russian propaganda was especially effective.

That doesn't excuse the propaganda, it just puts it in context.

 

Putin knew trump and figured he could manipulate trump like Gepeto manipulated Piinocchio. If you recall when trump first became recognized as a candidate he was known for saying things like: What would be wrong with America and Russia getting along? From the get go he was saying positive things about Russia and Putin. I think Hillary not getting elected and trump getting elected was a win-win for Putin.

 

Yes. But I doubt you'll get some people to accept this fact.

Ah, but didn't you hear? Hillary deserved to be president. It was her turn. She was the anointed one. She was unstoppable. She was the most qualified person in the history of the world. She had the sitting president in her corner. She had the mainstream media in her corner. She had the Hollywood crowd in her corner. She had the Clinton political machine in her corner. Without the activities of those pesky Russians, we'd all be saying Madam President. What a shame. Now all that talent and ability left to write books entitles What Happened in which to blame anyone and everyone not named Hillary Clinton. Makes perfect sense, if you don't think about it...

 

Your simple answer begs a new question, meaning you didn't answer the original question. Why did Russia prefer Trump to Clinton?

 

Review the OP. The effectiveness of the Russian interference is not the issue. The election is not the issue. The issue is a simple question.
