    A lot of libs (and I mean MANY) go to universities and major in the cream-puff "Liberal Arts". Then they get all butt-hurt and mad at society when after squandering huge amounts of money and years of their lives, they realize that a degree in "basket-weaving" isn't going to swing a Bay Area apartment or a BMW 5-series....

    "Smart"...? Is it smart to get a degree in something that won't even prepare you to support yourself in life -- without government handouts and 'subsidies'?! Hint: now does everyone begin to understand why Socialism is so popular among "smart", erudite, "college-educated" Liberals...?

    The Cajun Navy provided a large portion of that help. Citizens. Some from Austin, some from Dallas, etc. but still citizens.

    In about as much effort as a political party instituting a dictatorial health system, which they bragged since *they* could afford it, that meant everyone else could to. Only, it didn't work out so well financially or otherwise in eight years.

    Generally, it's easier for the US to tend to its domestic concerns, then that of a de-facto colony like Puerto Rico(frankly, if our territories are as undeveloped as Puerto Rico, I'm thinking we might be better off detaching ourselves. Britain learned that having an undeveloped colony is worse than having no colonies at all.) In fact, it was a win-win relationship for India when it was broken off.
