My favorite got me three days off when I embedded a link to a VOTRAN PDF, and a Debate Politics moderator called me stupid for claiming "Environmental Justice" (fully explained in the PDF) was so maids could get to work on the beachside not so we could get to work on the mainland, so I called her ignorant.

We have had a lifetime of code words and phrases, "Fabian Socialists," "Third Way Socialists," and denials from those that are labeled as such by more honest media in the country that created Fabian Socialism, nothing as simple as a real honest communist existed here for a very long time.

Communism is when the means of production are owned by the state. We do not have that here. Of course there are communists here. Gus Hall the perennial Communist ran for POTUS every cycle.

Still I hear ridiculous crap of people claiming that Democrats are communists. That is factually, intellectually , and just plain wrong.

Exactly. Smith wasn't hired to be a commentator but eventually he seemed to feel, unrealistically, his opinions were worthwhile.

Finding trained journalists who just report the news without inserting their bias is becoming ever more difficult.. Smith crossed the line long ago.

 

They gave him the management position of the daytime and breaking news about the time Trump was elected and he turned it from that "We report, you decide" to "Let me tell you how bad Trump was today as I speak with disgust about him". He can find a pundit job which I'm sure MSNBC would love to have him on every night REALLY telling everyone how much he hates Trump.

 

And I would have no doubt they were finding people like me turning to Fox Business or other programing during that 2 - 3 time slot as Smith was becoming unbearable. And I missed that hard news period FOX has some of the best reporters out there.

I agree, to suggest someone would do such an act in the open for everyone to see, is just another one in a long list of Trump/Alex Jones type conspiracies.

 

"You can't handle the truth!" Describes FOX viewers pretty well. Example: Smith exposed the "uranium sale/scandal" as a farce by leveling facts on it. Fox viewers went bonkers, shredding their clothes, setting their hair on fire, killing their first born on a Trumpian alter, and chewing on their carpets.

 

It's all about ratings. In the early years of television, the FCC decided to allow broadcasters to run commercials as long as they allotted so many hours per day for public information services like news and weather forecasts. The news programming was separate from the commercial arm of each network and under separate management. The producers, journalists, and talking heads had integrity because their pay was not dependent upon ratings.

Nowadays it's more about personalities than straight news. Shepard Smith didn't start inserting his opinions until he realized that creating himself as an on-screen personality would garner ratings as it had done for everyone else, thus increasing viewership and his value.

The news came to be about money and ratings a long time ago, so we shouldn't blame the talking heads for being opinionated. I fact-check even the ones I like.

Hannity is a biased partisan.

I would never expect a Fabian Socialist to not be a liar, that is the entire point of the Delayer. Carter wanted Socialized Medicine in "Why not the Best" book, Kennedy told him, "now is not the time," that is The Delayer Quintus Fabius Maximus, that is the essence of the problem. Fabians plot, commies don't exist, because they lie their ass off after McCarthy. But every single Democrat that voted for the delayers, the Fabians, is a fracking socialist.

So if "Communism is when the means of production are owned by the state," then every Democrat that voted for the Fabians Socialists is a Communist too, unless of course your definition is off and leaving something out.

From each according to their abilities to each according to their needs, not just the socialist part of USSR, or ownership of production, the part you left out and was the essence of Franklin D. Roosevelt's Executive Order 7027, redistribution of property.

Government ownership and control of the principle means of production, in a small way the intent of the Timberline Lodge and WPA.

In a book in the 60's an American economist predicted the point that the Soviet Union reached pure communism, and it had nothing to do with government ownership of production, it turned out it was the decade they collapsed; one chapter was about control of the economy for control of electoral outcomes, if you want to find the book.
