I see Muslims on a daily basis LIVE, not only on TV. So, please tell me about Muslims.

Yeah, that's the OT. But Christians stick to the NT, mind you.

Really? Is that why most Christians love to quote the OT, and use it as the basis for most of their beliefs? I mean, Jesus never said anything about homosexuality being a sin, and I'm sure he hung out with a lot of gays, since he was usually with the outcasts of society, which would have included them. All the **** far right "Christians" quote about homosexuality being a sin comes from the OT. And Evangelicals sure as hell don't follow the NT. I mean. if Jesus came today, first thing he's do is go flip tables at those money hungrey SOBs' churches. But, then again, they don't follow the parts of the OT they don't like either, like the part that says you are only allowed to hold a debt over someone for 7 years.

Thanks, very good point. It shows how wrong such a thing is and that a culture can renounce it, as was done.
These days, nonetheless, wrong forms and anything interpretable as "disrespect" can get one 'burned', at least on "social" media.

I can't recall Jesus saying anything about gays, so let's leave that to the OT.
I however can recall him saying something about pedophiles and false prophets.

It is generally considered that the Dark Ages began with the closing of the Athenian Academy in AD529 how is that compatible with the Dark Ages having anything to do with Islam?

I'd always heard it was the deposing of Romulus Augustulus in 476, but the end of the AA is good too. Can't Islams origins in 672 be seen as a manifesting of the Dark Age? A lot of Islam's early power was dependent on the power vacuum created when the Eastern Roman Empire became the Byzantine dominion wasn't it?

Certainly that is my understanding, the wars between the Sassanid and Byzantines weakened both empires allowing the Muslims to fill the power vacuum. I do not know if you watched the video Canell sourced but historically it was just drivel. It is also my understanding that very little of the early conquests involved forced conversions. It would be backed up by Umar and his covenent with the Patriarch of Jerusalem which allowed the practise of all religions and Jews were allowed openly back into Jerusalem for the first time since the Romans. In the video the speaker only mentions how Umar made Jews and Christians Dhimmis.

According to the fairy tale when the Jesus character returns he will rule with an iron rod (by force) and kill you if you disobey. Where is the love?

You think you can't love someone and still discipline them? Do you have parents?

How do you think that is going to help? You were very concerned about the treatment of gays and women, but I don't see how your suggestion resolves that, it just removes them from the legal framework which might protect them.

I don't see shunning and separating people doing anything but reinforce the differences, supporting the extremes.

    So?

It is Islam that discriminates against women and gays, and thus is INCOMPATIBLE with Western values and legal system. Take polygamy for instance.
Why can't you SEE and admit that?

It would be logical for women, at least, to abandon Islam.

I guess man of them would if apostasy in Islam wasn't punishable by death. Take Iran before the Islamic revolution - short skirts, no veils. And now?

So your concerns don't actually get resolved by your proposed solution. Makes me think those aren't really your concerns, but that you have less defensible reasons for your views.

Then what good does separating them do? Does building a wall make someone any less discriminatory? You haven't changed the situation, you've just made it more convenient for you to ignore.

The same good as separating a tick from a sheep or a rapist from an young girl.
As I said earlier, if Muslims think their culture is so awesome and superior, we will give them the chance to fully enjoy it. Behind a wall.

    Im confused.
If a woman is half the value of a man in islam...and we all know that this is not questioned...
then why do they have to suffer the same penalty as men for apostacy...
    Shouldnt they be half beheaded........

One important measure of human standards is looking at where people desire to move to and from.
