    Should the following territories be granted (or at least offered) Statehood into the Union?

    * Puerto Rico = Pop. 4,000,000
    * New Columbia (Washington D.C.) = Pop. 600,000
    * Pacifica (American Samoa, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands) = Pop. 320,000
    * Virgin Islands = Pop. 100,000

    This would make America a 54 State Union. We could return to the original 13-Star flag and make a new 54-Star Flag (I like the original Revolutionary Flag).

    Last I heard they didn't want Statehood, except for D.C. but that's a different issue.

    In Puerto Rico, the Governor is a member of the Puerto Rico Statehood group there. There was a small group in the Pacific pushing for Statehood (there website no longer exists however). In the Virgin Islands they are pretty laid back and don't show up to polls/elections much.

    It is hard to get a proper feel for Statehood without an actual offer. Many early states in the Union had "polled" below a majority for Statehood, but once an actual offer was given and put to vote, the support almost doubled (thus why they are now States).

    What should happen, is that Congress should pass a bill officially putting an offer on the table for each of the territories to vote Yes or No on. A Yes vote giving them Statehood and proper representation in Congress.
