It's merely a comment on the human condition; humans will always gravitate to, and have allegiance toward, groups most like themselves. I expect you would too; it's the 'family thing' at work. Or maybe tribal thing at work is a better explanation. We're tribal by instinct.

Reducing intake based upon practical bases is in no means hypocritical. Additionally, raising questions on areas that others are likely to bring up does not say which side he would fall on.

Just supposing you and your family were forced to house-share for an indeterminate period of time? Guessing that you're an Australian, and that you could choose the ethnicity/nationality of your host, would you rather live with another Australian family, or say, an African family who insist that you daughter should be subjected to FGM, and there were regular visits by a spiritual healer to remove evil spirits from one of their children; or a Muslim family for example, who imposed their rules on your family, including the 5 times a day call-to-prayer in the local mosque, the demand that you should study the Koran, eat their food, and they kept trying to prosethlyze you to their faith? Personally, I'd choose to share with an English or otherwise westernized family, but that doesn't mean that I hate Africans or Muslims.

Actually there's a corollary scenario: If you moved to another country, would you seek out an Australian, or even a white, community, or just settle in anywhere within the indigenous populace?

Suggest Latin America to those knocking on your door.
