Absolutely agree that the Establishment wings of BOTH parties will NOT do anything to FIX the broken tax code and yes, NOTHING will change until that is addressed.

I hate to see yet another 4 years WASTED when we could have had someone WILLING to make those changes in the Oval office in 2021.

Given the SHAMBLES that is our current leadership and government things are looking negative for both the short and long terms.

I wish that was not the case, Cy, for all of us no matter our differences of opinion.

It was intentional and he lied about what he said and he never apologized.

WRONG about it being intentional and lying!

His retraction was a de facto apology.

There was no apology and hen lied when he said he was REALLY talking about members of Congress. I expect a censure of some form.

Ever since Schumer pulled this damnable, execrable stunt on the steps of the Supreme Court, I have been asking one thing, and never gotten a reply from anyone on the liberal Left:

"What would the Democrat reaction be if some wretched REPUBLICAN senator had made the SAME kind of threats?" :lonely:

Yes, in your Post #40 in this thread, you did write, "If McConnell had explained what he meant afterwards I would give him the same pass, Cy!" I stand corrected and apologize, noting that so far, you are the ONLY person to answer the question of what the Democrat response would have been if a Republican had done what Schumer did.

Truthfully, I think I had gotten to the point where I no longer thought you were/are a Democrat, per se... and, in my subjective estimation, were that true, it would be a good thing. I think of you now as being a Sanders/Yang Democrat, even if such a person doesn't really exist... but then, neither does the Democrat Party that I knew and was loyal to, long, long ago.... ;)

Technically I am an Independent who Leans Dem on Social Issues.

I consider myself to be a GENUINE fiscal conservative as opposed to the GREED OBSESSED asshats who PRETEND to be "fiscal conservatives" but then OUTSPEND even the Dems when it comes to both Corporate Welfare and Welfare for the Wealthy in the form of fiscal malfeasance taxcuts.

As a GENUINE fiscal conservative I am in FAVOR of tax INCREASES on those two groups AND lifting the Income Cap on SS and taxing Capital Gains as ordinary income.

My reasons for doing the above are because we need to end St Reagan's Borrow and Spend INSANITY and start PAYING for our government and paying down our National Debt.

My answer to anyone who wants LOWER taxes is to tell them to stop demanding that we must WASTE so much money on a Military that vastly EXCEEDS what we need for our own DEFENSE. The Military just pisses away ALL of the money they get and as a GENUINE fiscal conservative I want to HOLD the Military ACCOUNTABLE for every dollar they get from us taxpayers.

I will step down off my soap box now and hand the floor back to you, Cy. ;)
