I think what trump and north korea have demonstrated is that countries with nukes get treated differently than countries without nukes. I suspect that iran wants to be treated more like north korea and less like Afghanistan

On who's dime? There hasn't been a start on a nuclear power plant in the United States for decades. The reason is simple - cost. Utilities are unwilling to invest the billion dollars plus to construct one. The permits are all there and ready to go. No Dice.

Thorium reactors are nothing new but their cost is projected to be even higher than traditional nuclear plants. That's why they haven't been built.

Iran wants a bomb, not "cheaper" electrical power. If they want cheaper electricity, build a few solar farms. Last I heard, they have plenty of sun for high load days. At night, go to natural gas.

No "you" (the USA) did not. However, as you made the assertion it is up to you to back it up. Citations please.

Why not help Iran do what it ostensibly wants (power stations) without going the nuclear option. Would you rather it have The Big Toy?

I thought Obama was a Muslim, so weren't he and Iran best friends? Why would Iran do this, risking to pi** off their best friend?
