For Germany to have a back up plan to ensure the continued survival of Germany in the event of European Union collapse. To pay 2% of it's GDP on defence before the end of the decade and to respect those members who can't depend on Germany right now. Namely US and Britain and Greece. For the world community to suspect Germany of phoney peace until Germany agrees not to have influence on the region. To wipe out Greek debt that was imposed by Germany breaking Article 125 of the Lisbon Treaty. To ensure freedom and the continued peace between Germany and the UK and US.

Openingly standing up to NATO and America for a pan European Force at German command goes against everything UK expects of Germany after WWII.

Self fulfilling prophecy. There are many in Germany who do not wish to rely on the US. Who want to break that connection. These people are making a self fulfilling prophecy. But they are thick as pigshit. If they ever succeed in rivalling the US. The US and indeed Russia, Britain, will kill them. It's the same old suicide pact from history recurring. Endlessly repeating until it is stopped. Next time is the last time. It ends so quickly and easily now, and so finally. That who's bothered? Carry on Germany. Kill yourselves. We will laugh. But it's not just Germany. It's an EU wide feeling and for many people the core reasons for the EU. To wage war on America. Brit's don't like this, we understand that it ends up in nuclear war with all our Euro friends dead. We tried to stop this by leadership but that leadership has been rejected. So back to the old ways. More nukes on order. Time for an upgrade.
I'm beginning to sympathise with Putin in protecting his people in the Ukraine. Perhaps we're too hard on Putin and not hard enough on Merkel?
