Yep. I think the Palestinian Authority made the right choice when they decided to put some efforts into UN recognition. If I were a Palestinian I would hate the UN too, as they were the ones who sold me out after WWI and WWII, but still it's a better way to legitimity and independence than having your population butting heads with a bona fide army, or terrorism. It's constructive resistance. Not that it gets them any points with Israel or the WASP audience, natch. Western medias conveniently cultivate ignorance about what happens in the occupied territories. As for EU's reaction, I took distance with these guys regarding their complicity in the Catalonia debacle. I can't expect them to do the right choice if doing the right choice conflicts with such earthly matters as economics.
