    In 1970 I was living in Europe and going to an American high school over there.

    There were a lot of protests in the USA against the Viet Nam war.

    In Europe we watched it on the BBC and wondered if the whole USA was going to burn down before we got back home.

    That was a great read. Thanks.
    Growing up we never ate meat on Fridays. But we didn't always have fish. Whatever we had, it just could not be meat. Good Friday is always absolutely no meat and it has to be fish. Christmas Eve is absolutely no meat and it has to be fish.

    That's the Hokey Pokey. I learned how to do that from a nun in the parking lot of my grammar school. She would take all us little kids out there and play the guitar and stuff like that. There was another one she taught us. 'Im going to Kentucky, Im going to the fair, I met a seniority with flowers in her hair....

    This morning I went to a large, non-denominational church that my daughter attends. They seem to be the church of choice these days and it's easy to see why. The dress was casual, the atmosphere was relaxed, the upbeat music was professionally done, and the upbeat message was delivered by a folksy preacher who could sell (pardon the cliche) freezers to the Eskimos. That the message was theologically suspect (at least in the opinion of this mainstream Christian) is a topic for another forum and another day.
