Funny you mention a hat.I wore a stocking cap in winter because I wasn't
about to let my head get blasted by wind when I started to heat up.
I had a girlfriend who jogged and never wore a hat.But she insisted on
wearing gloves. She did have tiny hands. But still. In winter and the winds
get to blowin' I want some head cover.About the only time in winter I never
jogged is when there was Ice on the street. You can jog in snow but not
    Ice.

The sun is just as bad for your face and skin in winter as summer.

In winter I wear a ski cap under my hat.

In summer I wear a kitchen towel soaked in cold water under my hat.

I have one little soup pot left from my family.I decided to buy
a new one a few years ago { a similar style from Paula Dean with a
copper bottom }. I just checked because it's the exact same cooking
pot.The bottom is pretty well worn down.I see the last part or ware
I checked and it's Revere Ware.
Man I cooked a lot of stuff over the years in them pots.
I remember tossing out my larger Pot when I got a new stove in
    2011.

Soup is probably the best thing you can eat.

And especially as you get older like I am, the digestion handles soup better.

Pots and pans are functional items and need to be able to perform their jobs.

I have one huge spaghetti pot with a lid which I use for spaghetti and also boiling lobsters and crab legs. It is my biggest pot.

Then I have 4 different sized pots with lids for smaller applications. Normally these involve soups, sauces, stews, and so forth.

I also have a large, medium, and small pans with lids too. These are used for frying, mostly flour tortillas, bacon, eggs, steaks, potatoes, etc.

As my pots and pans get old I replace them with pretty much the same thing.

When I finally die in really old age my younger sisters can inherit these.

Yep but ya gotta add a little wine. That's a definite must.
Do not EVER use or buy cooking wine.A couple ounces of
red wine makes soup a delicacy.Plus instead of salt a dash of
Worcestershire. And of course some cracked pepper.

I agree.A hot meal can take you further. That is why Antarctic explorers
always have a hot meal.Plus it's easier on the digestion.

I made a mistake a few years ago and bought a rather expensive
thick aluminum cooking pan.It doesn't take kindly to soap & water after
a cooking.I think Aluminum is like Cast Iron { skillet }.Once they are
properly seasoned then you don't ever wash them.Just wipe them down.
    I don't like that Idea'r.That is a breeding ground for bacterium.Like a wet
bathroom towel. But then once on the stove the bacteria dies. But still.
    I don't cotton heated-up bacterium.

As long as you wipe out a pan first, and then heat it to frying, nothing can survive.

Wines are good for making sauces for meat.

White wine works well with chicken, fish, and seafood.

Red wine works well with red meats.

After the meat has cooked you add some wine and then let it boil down to a gravy.

Yes & No.Did you know that red Wine actually goes well with
Salmon. But overall a good white goes with Fish, shellfish and
    poultry.Plus Pork.
I never drink or buy white wine.I have no promblemo
    with fixing a nice Trout { Ruby Red Trout is my favorite }
    and having Red Wine.
It took years to develop a true love for Only Red Wine.
I gave up Beer entirely about 5 years ago.Just a couple beer
all throughout summer when I feel I have to because I'll get
rude looks when around Bikers or my old friends.
White wine has a tendency to give me a slight headache.
It has too much sugar content.Plus it tastes white.Meaning cheap.

For breakfast this morning I had a bowl of Raisin Bran and a large cup of coffee.

Then during work I will eat 1/2 sandwich every 2 hours throughout the day.

For dinner when I get home I will finish off my leftover chicken vegie noodle soup.

No eating out today. It's Monday. Monday is normally a full day with no time to eat.

And no alcohol on Monday either except maybe a small glass of wine with my soup, like last night.

I don't normally start drinking seriously until Friday evening. And then I make up for lost time during the week.

Let me see if I have this about half right. You abstain from alcohol
during the early part of the week only to make up for it by indulging
like a Mad Hatter on a payday Friday.
Sounds like a theory Chris Farley would employ at a ReHab clinic.

If you drink alcohol you need to have rules.

    My rules are these:

Only 1 drink per day usually wine Monday thru Thursday.

As much as I can drink on Friday -OR- Saturday night but not both.

If I drink on Friday then no drinking on Saturday.

No drinking on Sunday at all ever. Sunday is a detox day.

No drinking ever before 6 pm or after midnight.

Our paydays are every other Thursday. Drinking has nothing to do with payday.

Starbucks is only good for those who really like feces in their coffee.

I don't care for Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts has better coffee.
