Been looking into door construction. I will join it together with 3/4 dowels. I am not sure what it will look like yet. Been looking at doors. I made sure it was square. Will join the 4 corners with dowels and glue. I want no metal in my doors. Then I will just fill in the frame.

I recently ordered some wildflower seeds and other seeds from Eden Brothers seed company. We plan on planting wildflowers for the next spring season. Primrose and coreopsis have volunteered in the spot we sowed some seed this past spring. Everything bloomed out so beautiful we plan on doing it in a big scale way. Can't wait to see what happens.

Sounds good. I was a carpenter for 30 years before I invented my current business, I originally trained as a cabinet maker.

I did a lot of cement form work before getting a job in a foundry. I finished up working as a fabricator. I wasn't a fitter however.

Fabrication is pretty skilled. I've seen guys build wonderful arches and even a fountain.

Being able to do landscaping is an art form that not many people are able to accomplish. There are so many things to take into consideration in landscaping. You will have to post or paint pictures of your flower meadow.

We worked on waste treatment mostly. We also did fabrication for pulpwood mills, moving bridges, heat exchangers, and other stuff. Had to know how to measure and read drawings.

That is one of the best you have posted.
I haven't done anything painting wise lately.

My 2x4 door just sits there for now. I may end up putting it on hinges. I have some reclaimed hinges. I sanded down the doors some. But I haven't yet doweled them together. I have just been thinking about it. I have seen some neat tricks on the way to do it. A bisquit joiner would probably be better but machines cost money. I will drill all the holes free hand. I saw a few tricks so I think I can pull it off. Just have to measure correctly. We used to have to be within 1/64 th drilling holes at the Fab shop. And that was in circles.

You could knock a oval (headless) nail into the jambs leaving 1/4" sticking out, then line it up with the header or footer and tap them together.
Separate and remove the nail, this will leave a drill guide mark in both parts.

Apologies, I should have guessed you'd already thought of that.

No apologies needed. I ended up drill at an angle like a kreg jig and put dowels in. Kinda blind but it worked.

There are new sulphur cosmos coming up under the old cosmos. The plants have already reseeded themselves and starting a new growth cycle. They probably won't make a full cycle of growth it would be nice if they did. Just a bit of info if anyone is interested. The seeds I ordered came in yesterday can''t wait to plant them. They are in the refrigerator and two or three months they will be ready to plant..fingers crossed.
