Cody got some meds and a check up, his Dr.'s visit cost more than my dr.s appointments...350.00. Heartworm and all other parasites free is peace of mind.

Plus makin' a mess. All the roofin' nails and old Tarp paper.
However today Crews of like 5 or 6 { usually Mexicans } do an average
roof in about half a day. They don't hammer each shingle like the old days.
They have shingles that are in groups { 4 or 6 } and use nailer guns { pneumatic }.
But expect a mess.Judge a roofing crew but how well they clean up.
I remember my house first roof job. Some old guy with no teeth who
couldn't get up on a roof was the foreman. He had 3 country boys do the
hammerin'.He watched 'em like a hawk. The Foreman did the heavy lifting stuff
but did not get up on the roof.I warned them about nails in my backyard.
    I had my first husky then.I spent about an hour each day { took them like 3 days }
pickin' up nails so my Husky wouldn't step on any.
They had a big wood trailer and it was loaded to the gills with worn roof stuff.
Plus a lot of Nails stickin' out the black tarp paper they ripped off the roof.
Today they have tools to scrape the tarp paper off.
They also kinda screwed' up the chimney flashing. It wasn't waterproof.

I don't think you wanna be giving a kin { cousin } stuff like heartworm meds.
Maybe a bowl or two of DinOvite for lunch.

I have had roofing experience but not on a metal roof. I don't have a chimney only a gas vent, electrical conduit and a vent pipe. They have " boots" for that. And the big swirly vents they told me to tear them off and roof right over the top of them. The two valleys kinda puzzle me a little but I' 'll figure it out.

    Ouch.

Been there myself. We rescued an English Foxhound years ago that some piece of trash abandoned in the woods to die and it cost us an arm and a leg to get rid of all the parasites he had. That poor thing was an emaciated, half-dead mess when he stumbled across us. We didn't have the heart to take him to the county animal shelter because that would have been his death sentence (he was an old hunting dog that was going lame), so we took him in. That was the most expensive "free" dog we've ever had.

    My cat wouldn't either.

Why do they not make mouse flavored cat food? (2:00am ponderings, lol)

You did a good thing there. I try not to think about how much I have spent in trying to save my cats from assorted maladies. To date, Einstein (RIP) cost us close to $7,500 over the span of 18 months.

I think our Sonic is the worst one in the country. If it isn't, I don't see how the franchise stays in business. 25 minutes for cold food that was only half right. I won't be returning.

I am going to order my valley tin from the metal company. I have been watching videos. That's what I love about the internet.

I have a scar on my little finger ... right hand... all the way from the bottom to the top. I was guideing a slab of 1inch thick by 10ft by 8ft piece of steel when the dog gave out and the steel fell. It broke the cement floor in the shop and gave me stitches. Lucky no one was under it or they would have squashed like a bug.

Good for you and your wife for taking him in. We have two places here that take in stray animals both are private no kill shelters.
Cats and dogs that are drop offs get expensive. How can someone not give something kindness when all they have known is mistreatment.

I said that to someone once and got told off with a lecture. That ended that friendship.

I think a person like that is not fully developed. To not understand that animals are feeling beings is like not knowing how to see life.
