All the countries you mention are capitalist. China has an enormous global market share. The others trade globally under capitalist conditions except perhaps North Korea and that is largely because of all the sanctions placed on it.
So they can't be termed communist.
So in extremist I would give you North Korea.
I don't know of any others.

Wrong Catholicism was the dominant religion of the thirteen colonies and virtually every colony had its own religious branding from the various versions of the reformed church in Massachusetts to the Quakers of Pennsylvania and Presbyterians Methodist and a host of others. If I remember correctly only Rhode Island was Catholic. Hell England hadn't been majority Catholic at least since the Glorious Revolution and probably before.

The issue is the definition of communism, very much overused and emotionally active in the American diaspora.
To say China is a communist country is à référence to Mao who died à century or so ago.
China dominates the global market, has à thriving and growing middle class which habitually travels, attends higher education goes shopping and buys thousands of acres of land across Europe. They finance huge national projets including railways and à new nuclear power station in just the UK alone. France is upset that the Chinese has bought up some of the most famous châteaux and vinyards across the country. They are PRIVATE purchase. Individuals also own businesses, factories, yachts and airplanes. They fly into capital cities to top up their wardrobes with more désigner goods and jewellery.
Which they own.
VietNam is also à capitalist country and part of à new and large trade block centering around Pacific Rim. Of course it allows private property. Ditto Laos.
Cuba has become à very active tourist spot and again has always allowed private property.
What your atlas is doing most dishonesty is to tell you that a country which is not a democracy is by definition communist.
It isn't.
It is perfectly possible to have a monarchy with à very open economy. The UK,'s head of state is a monarchy as in other countries and none are communist.

Communism is NOT a description of the structure of the government. It is an economic description. Your atlas is confusing two very different things I suspect to assuage and promote the American historical bias and is reinforcing à skewed dishonest version of the rest of the world.
In fact it is a remnant of the cold war and as much propaganda as something you would find in a Russian atlas.
