So you like wildfires and mass extinctions. Got it. I see almost no birds now. I put out water, bird baths, food, but they're all gone. Few insects too, like honey bees. First time in my 35 years of gardening. You like that? Or do you have some idiotic "alternate facts" to explain it away so it's more "comfortable"?

 

The world is warming. Get over it. Learn to live with it because there's nothing we can do about it. Only fools believe we can win a planetary war. The left would have you believe we can get back to where we were. We can't. Even the left admit that the very best we can do is limit the amount of temp increases, but they will still increase, no matter what we do. Why can't you be honest about that? And, since man is responsible for this and our population grows exponentially anything we do is instantly negated by having more people. By the way, I have a nice backyard, full of all kinds of wildlife, including insects.

 

Ah!!!! I see now. You know more about it than 95% of climate scientists. You know we're causing it (fossil fuels and burning down forests to make way for farms) but you believe we can't stop it.

I used the media and they used "us"—in one instance to oust a far right school board (normal conservative community of 250,000) and in another stop a planed 2 sq. mile garbage dump in a suburban community.

The folks running the media in our town and a major metro are—tv, newspaper, radio—detested the school board and thought the garbage dump was a stupid idea. I provided the media with opportunities to bring in their cameras—like us appearing before the school board or holding a major rally in a school gym to oppose the garbage dump. We gave them written copies of speeches people giving them were told they had to read and not add to or change in any way. We made it easy for them to put together a nice story. I pressured the teachers' union I was helping to never complain about the media.

We gave them a good story and they chose to help us pursue our goal. We always reminded ourselves they were a business, hence making it easy for them to cover a political story. They had to live in their media market after our political action. We made the contentious statements about the "other guy" and didn't expect the news media to muckrake.

That's the real world. The news media didn't run us, nor did we run them. Trump bullies Republicans pols, but he doesn't bully the media. Money controls the media and as long as you're not undermining the ground under their feet, you're in the game.

If I was convincing the media of one thing about Trump it would be that he should never again be POTUS. Cheney is doing the right thing, even though she loses her seat. Darth Vader Dick Cheney may go down in history as a less important person than his daughter Liz.

 

Most plastics in use are oil based. The same process that produces gasoline also produce thousands of other products.

 

So what if they're hypocritical?

 

Doesn't mean we have to burn oil.

 

I'm what extremists don't like—an aggressive moderate.

 

Because that’s all the world does. Wait around to defend themselves. Wait around to pay their fair share. Wait around to bend over for the Chinese.
