So...what's Kin Jong Un really like?

Kim seems to save his most gruesome indulgences for the way he deals with people he considers enemies, traitors or subordinates. North Korea dictator Kim Jong Un's executions: anti-aircraft guns, flamethrowers, mortars.

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/09/22/north-korea-dictator-kim-jong-uns-executions-anti-aircraft-guns-flamethrowers-mortars.html

[If even part of this report is true he is reminiscent of former President of Uganda Idi Amin.]

His wife is a former singer for the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble, a musical group popular in North Korea. Kim is just a normal Korean guy who loves K-pop but he is forced to keep his family tradition, thus playing the role of a mad dictator reluctantly.

Looks like he's about 400 calories away from exploding* in that pic.

Kim Jong-un was educated in Switzerland, and he speaks German, among other languages. He may be an egocentric, delusional, and highly dangerous person, but it's unlikely that he's 'stupid'....

Too bad that everything we are doing to counter him (and his Chinese ally) is 'stupid'. Hint: Trump's 'cash register war' with nothing but sanctions will fail.

You write as if your interests in the region are also China's. As soon as you'll understand what are China's interests and how they differ from yours, you'll see clearer in this story, and stop imagining scenes from "Rambo III".

But I'm afraid you can't. You can't put yourself in China's mindset. You really think China's interests would be in destabilizing the region? Right now KJU's defiant stance is more pleasing than not to them.

China's interest is it's continued economic growth. They would not want to jeopardize that and you offer no good reason why they would..

The region is already famously unstable with no end in sight because Kim will not and cannot change...

There is only one way to make North Korea stable into the future and that is to get rid of Kim and reorganize the political, economic and social system of North Korea. Those negotiations are likely already underway with China and South Korea.

If true, sure. But how do we know it is true? That is the problem, right. For westerners have not seen it. So, we either take someones word, or, we fabricate it. To demonize him. I would imagine anti aircraft rounds would be merciful. A quick death. Or a mortar. But a flame thrower, not so merciful. We heard he killed one fellow by being eaten by dogs. Of course it may have never happened.

Sorry but I am just too old to trust what a CIA fed media says. And I sure do not trust what my govt says. I have seen both caught in far too many lies, intentional lies. Who in their right mind would trust either? A fool perhaps. American Fools.

That's what you, a capitalistic American who never knew anything else, think. China's not as predictably opportunistic as the Occident is, Fred. Doing business there is a long process, it's slow even if apparently, they would have evey interest in doing it faster. It's an ancient people, that used to be the Earth's richest country except for a 300-y spell that nears its end.

Compared to the never-ending mess that you guys put in place everywhere you roamed in the ME, the Far East is pretty tame. I don't think China envies the ME.

That was also being said about Kadhafi and Hussein, before you guys realized they were in facts lids on the chaos. We just can't trust you to handle world affairs anymore. You lack what of China has in abondance: Foresight, and self-restrain.

China does not want a war in Korea

But they do enjoy seeing north korea stir up trouble and threatening the US

So they pretend to do something helpful while really doing nothing

The problem is that trump is not obama and he may not allow the communist charade to go on much longer

Pretty much spot on on all points... Except about the Trump bit. I don't believe there will be war, or even a strike from either part.

    (Getting up early too, heh?)

I make no predictions about what trump will or will not do next

And neither should you or the Chinese

North Korea is not yet able to reach the US with a devastating nuclear attack but they soon will be able to if we do not take them out

Don't expect the next year to be exactly like the last 24 years under differnt presidents and different circumstances

I disagree about the war. Unless china takes little fat boy out, we will have no choice but to do it the hard way. There is 0 chance Trump will allow them thermo nukes on ICBMs. Kim is getting taken out the easy way or the hard way. Its in Chinas court to decide which is less of a mess for them to deal with. Im guessing nuclear war in their back yard wont be good for their economy and them taking kim out and replacing him with someone else is much more appealing. Trump is not Obama and the rest of the world better step up or begin learning to deal with Trumps solution....which will be a lot of bright flashes

I think you under-estimate the power of Washington's establishment, or that of China's.

I never underestimate the corrupt washington establshiment

And if they conspire with china that makes them even more powerful

But are they corrupt enough to take out trump while leaving kim with nukes?

    I hope not

Yes, I do believe there's some sort of un-official (or not) channel of communication between the two entities, but I wasn't thinking of corruption: I was rather thinking about generals and stuff that will be able to put their fists on the table when Trump talks of starting WWIII.

    Gotta go to work now.
