Give him credit for visiting them. Contrary to what you may think, many of these people were very happy to meet him.

A partisan hack I see. Two days before Trump made his tweet I had told my wife that after watching the people of Texas and Florida and how they jumped in and helped each other it did not seem the people of Puerto Rico had that same drive and they act like they want everyone to help them. It wasn't a slam but it did remind me of New Orleans and Katrina. Some interesting facts have come out concerning the island. A majority of the people that could have started getting the electrical grid up and running had left the country for America months earlier. The grid was so antiquated and mismanaged that the only way things will get fixed is install a new grid. Like one villager said " they hadn't had power for months". There was a picture shown many times on TV that one would have thought was from the hurricane of wires looped and hanging from a pole. Come to find out they had been there long before any hurricanes. The power company was broke and had no money for repair. Puerto Rico is in bankruptcy and when Trump said that the debt should be forgiven the Bond market took a dive as they are the main creditors. $.38 on the dollar.

The food and water was in the port but the country didn't even have enough truck drivers to deliver it. Where were the men and boys to clear the roads? What did the mayor of San Juan throw out to the people? A message of despair? At least Trump tried to make the situation seem not so bleak and where I come from it's nice to have a little paper to finish the job.

I can only imagine your relief when you found out that what "appeared to be the case" was in fact not the case.

I'll give trump points for at least trying, but true empathy is beyond him. Even when he tries to be postitive and uplifting he blows it - "a real catastrophe like katrina" such complete tone deafness is not the remark of a leader, its the remark of an incompetent.

My god....will you idiots ever let your BS go?

HillBill didn't "let" people die, she didn't kill them, did not plot with terrorist to create death...she was Freakin' Secretary of State. Will any of you EVER deal with your man crush instead of distracting away?

I find it fascinating after literally a dozen investigations into benghazi and despite the fact that none of the innumerable wild arsed accusations and conspiratorial rumors were true, there are those who cling to past in the vain hope that it will take the eye off the monumental clustermuck that is Trump today.

It seems that Puerto Rico has been in desperate straits for a few years now. All their educated people have left or are leaving. Welfare has been their number one import. The utilities, water and electrical, have been broke for a few years. Long before Trump was President the island has been begging for more money and relief from bankruptcy. So were was the empathy from the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress? These hurricanes were only a good excuse to dump on Trump. He did more in one week down there than the Dems have done in 8 years. Some of them are a bunch of ingrates. If I lived in Puerto Rico I would rather have a President that is going to send man power and get things moving than someone who is going to put his arm around me and tell me how he is feeling my pain. Already he is talking about debt relief which would crash the Bond market but would open a line of credit to fix things.

The hurricanes were "only a good excuse to dump on trump"? Where the hell have you been? Der TWITLER routinely provides the world with at least one or two reasons a day to dump all over him.

If I knew better I'd say he must take some masochistic glee in getting himself dumped on every day. (Er, maybe "dump" isn't the right word in this regard given his rumored penchants)

You gotta love him as he takes their BS and slings it back at them twice as hard. Puerto Rico is a good example of what happens when a society becomes totally dependent on the government to take care of them. Why did Trump throw those rolls of paper? Because those people couldn't wipe their A** without someone getting them started.

why am I not suprised by those who misrepresent facts and realities to fit their bigotries?

I guess expecting any level of intellectual honesty out of a bigot is like expecting my bald head to suddenly sprout hair.

Maybe because you don't understand the word bigotry. Most of you are incapable of having a honest discussion because your intolerant of opposing opinions. Just because you think someone is in the minority does not mean the majority is bigoted because they don't except the minority opinion. The majority could always agree with the concerns of the minority but then they could both be wrong.

Yep, and the vast majority of the citizenry are Democrats with all the learned helplessness that comes with that designation.

Leftists have their version of reality where Benghazi is concerned whereas the rest of us have the facts and truth. Live with it.
