I am not religious neither am I particularly puritanistic. I referenced the Bible to point out that we have always organised our societies by a set of moral laws and normative rules that regulate our animal side so that we can live in a more peaceful society.

You""""Something I have always wondered about and something that makes me rather amazed is that Feminists seemed to have had a very negative view on housework and motherhood, viewing these as less valueble that the tasks men performed - Instead of seeking equality by demanding a higher status for housework, they did it by demanding entrence to the job market. Something that, in turn, meant that being a housewife became something bad. Very interesting."""

And erroneous.....it wasn't "feminists" (those women you were told caused all the evil in the world) who denigrated homemakers. It was society in general...the attitude that women must stay home while men did the "important" jobs. In the "good old days" if a man did housework and took care of HIS own children he was ridiculed...and still is by sexists.

I have known feminists who have tried to raise the value of stay at home moms....but their value will never be raised by people who think that's a "woman's job"....and they have some ignorant outdated "facts" to prove it going back to caveman hunter/gatherer era of thousands of years ago.

    Women evolved, too.

NO, women having the same rights and opportunities men had did NOT make homemaking bad.

It may have frightened little men so they belittled women no matter what they did but women have a right to do as they please, just like men...

Your "solution" to making homemaking important is send all women back to it....but if woman are viewed as "less than" men the homemaking will not be considered important then either.

    .
What feminists viewed as "bad' was ignorant people insisting all women should be homemakers with no other choice........and it is...

It’s mean that you say feminist had a very negative view of housework and motherhood. It just shows your attitude . Who do you think fought for homemakers to be able to get credit in their own names? Who do you think fought for women to get half in divorce settlements? Who do you think fought for women to get pensions? Who do you think fought for women to get daycare for the children etc. Married women who did not work outside of the home we’re totally dependent. Saying that feminists had a negative view on motherhood was the divisive point perpetuated by people against equality for women. It was the extremists who thought that because women fought for the right to be equal outside of the home it must mean that we hated homemakers even though most of us were. That is you projecting your attitude. Ever wonder why men don’t assume the roles of homemakers?I doHave to smile that somehow intra-Marital sex is better than extramarital....I am very glad that you and your wife have a great sex life that doesn’t mean that having sex without being married isn’t great

Sadly many men of all ages don’t realize what women endured before sexually harassment came out of the closet. I have had minor things like a boss massaging my back while I was working to a guy who tried to rape me in my apartment. In both cases I never dreamt of reporting them. Today men will think twice

...and hopefully women will only have to think once before reporting the creeps...

But I remember when women had to accept that crap or suffer the consequences of objecting.....gee, that was depressing ...but nobody worried about that.
