McLarin expressed doubt as to whether Black women and White women could be “true friends”. She briefly dated a White man and endend the relationship because of the man’s race. She argues that Morgan Freeman films are part of an effort by “White America” to “remain at the center of black consciousness.”

The Loudest voices of CRT are also within the political coalition that keeps slave produced products on US markets.

Democrats excluded the amendment from a vote late Wednesday night, after members of the party objected to it.

The pushback from Senate Democrats comes amid efforts by senior Biden administration officials to quietly kill the bill over concerns. John Kerry, among others, has been lobbying House members against the bill. The bill is widely backed by the human rights community and easily attracted Republican support in the narrowly Democrat-controlled Senate. The new opposition to the measure among Democrats is a product of the Biden administration.

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act passed the Senate unanimously in July but has stalled in the House. Rubio reintroduced the bill as an amendment to the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act, in an attempt to force the House to finally vote on it.

Oregon university student government wants critical race theory graduation 'requirement'

The Associated Students of the University of Oregon, the university's student government, is proposing that every student be required to take a course on critical race theory in order to graduate.

During the University of Oregon Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, Associated Students of the University of Oregon President Isaiah Boyd said that the goal of the "Critical Race Theory" project is to "implement the primary teachings of CRT into the curriculum track for all undergraduates."

Boyd said that the Associated Students of the University of Oregon will be working with university administration members to incorporate the critical race theory course requirement into the bachelor's degree track.

Erin Aubry Kaplan is a journalist and author who grew up in the South Central section of Los Angeles and nearby Inglewood. She doesn't want any white people moving to Inglewood. She is OK with Latinos moving in.
