Here is a sample of our teaching.

    See anything bad there?

    IN REVIEW -----

We'll be setting group and quorum goals in the coming weeks

Be a light unto the world by becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ and joyfully help others to follow the Savior and receive the blessings of the temple

    AREA PRIORITIES

To become a light unto the world, I will:

    1. Become a true disciple and minister

    2. Keep sacred covenants and enjoy temple blessings

    3. Help the Church grow

    4. Encourage the rising generation

    Democrats are the actual cult.

You read the list. where does it speak of money? We do not pass collection plates. We have no collection that demands payment.

It does not matter how 'good' a religion is if it is not true. In addition to some parts being 'good', the religion is also secretive and absurd.

Many other Christians (and in this specifically I can agree with them as I'm an atheist) take offense at the butchering of the Bible with the Joseph Smith "Inspired" translation. Today you have the "pearl of great price". Had Joseph Smith finished his version of the Bible in his lifetime, parts of that book would have made it into his customized Bible. The Joseph Smith "inspired" translation is worse than the Jehovah's Witness New World Translation. Instead of twisting the words to fit an agenda, it adds and takes away passages.

I see something bad in the idea that we should make our assessment based on a curated sample provided by someone who is in favour of the thing we're assessing. Even the communists look good if you only read accounts given by convinced communists.

I have easy access to criticisms via for instance Wikipedia. A defence which doesn't at least address the general gist of the main ones, I have to assume cannot be trusted to give a fair account.

The "true disciple of Jesus" strikes me as far too open to interpretation. Without any specific definition of what this means you should and shouldn’t do, isn’t it really just allowing the Church leaders to demand anything by calling it “being a disciple of Jesus”?

Another issue is around those covenants, which I gather are kept secret from non-believers, which makes it impossible for us to make any kind of informed judgement.

Verities: (1) Trumpers are a cult, and (2) a 'true disciple of Jesus' is decided only by the relationship between the disciple and Jesus

Don't you have to fork over 10%? If you have to constantly recruit new members doesn't that also result in an increase in money to the cult leaders?

If *a 'true disciple of Jesus' is decided only by the relationship between the disciple and Jesus* then why do you need a fancy church building, guys in fancy robes and fancy titles who tell the sheep what to do, and all of the other trappings?

Do you remember the The Way Cult that Saul (Paul) tried to kill off until he took it over and made it his own?

    Acts 9:1-2.

I don't need anything of the sort, because I am not Mormon (which you imply wrongly), but the toxicity of the atheist cult does need all sorts of emotional goodies.

That was my impression when I read the goals

There was nothing in there about service to humanity and the world
Nothing about caring for God’s creation

Only about getting more arses on seats because that is what rakes in the dough

Latter day Saints take near death experience accounts very, very seriously and tend toward belief in Eventual Universal Salvation as explained in this message:

    Non Mormon - Heaven

I have never heard any class speak of near death. I however take this very serious. We also do not try to allocate humans to hell.

We do believe that there are 3 places for humans post death.

The best way is to simply use the Church site to let the church explain it.

Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all people will be resurrected. After we are resurrected, we will stand before the Lord to be judged according to our desires and actions. Each of us will accordingly receive an eternal dwelling place in a specific kingdom of glory. The Lord taught this principle when He said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions” (John 14:2).

There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord’s commandments. It will depend on the manner in which we have “received the testimony of Jesus” (D&C 76:51; see also D&C 76:74, 79, 101).

What I posted was not church doctrine. It was a female members report.

Women in our church are exremely important and do a lot of good attributed to the church.

Go to many churches and at some point they clearly make it about money.

Seldom is money even mentioned during our church services. A time one might hear about it is when they want to construct a new church to service the community . We have church building projects and no church building is free of cost.

Church doctrine is almost all about service to humanity. I heard on youtube a former Member describe the original church as closer to communism than to democracy. And he has a point there.

For instance, polygamy was never about sex. Clearly though when one has over 1 wife, sex probably is no problem. Women with lower sex drives more than likely show that so the former polygamist men could alway have sex with a much more active woman.

Family is extremely important to all of us. We gave up polygamy in the 1880s. And guess who forced that? It was Government. Government took an interest in sex and drove the Mormons to separate in a group more loyal to Government than others. And of course the Government has little tolerance with free people so chase them all over to this very day. Speaking of the alleged fundamentalists.

The day of our founding, polygamy was not part of the life of Mormons. So it was easier on our ancestors to not have polygamy.

Our church owns a lot of large farms. The food is used then or canned. We own canneries and have a lot of food stored. We rush to aid those in trouble but the bragging never takes place. We work for a lot of communities and perform service to them.

We once owned an oil refinery in Utah to make sure Mormons had plenty of fuel.

Some religions are more 'cult like' than other religions. All religions are dishonest and do nothing more than make money off church members who have had the 'fear of god' planted in them.

When it comes to the Church I belong to, what I see that comes our way by outsiders is Bigotry on their part.

They never spent even 5 seconds in our church but their prejudicial remarks amount to sheer bigotry. They prefer to defend communism to saying good things about my Church.

Supposedly we enjoy raping girl children. We do not seek sex with children of either sex. When they defend Catholics the very first church, as they run down their clergy over sexual issues, they are far more likely not to lie than they are to lie about my church. Trying to be clear. Lies are told daily about my church. Take Mitt Romney, you will find more lies told about him than about child molesting Catholic priests.

We for a fact waste no church time on running down any other church nor it's members. Still we endure this daily tirade and lies about my church.

You can't be speaking of my church. We definitely are no cult. And our aim is never to profit from the members. We do far more good for the public than the public is aware of. We also get attacked more than other cults get attacked and until you are a member of my church for several years, you may not learn of all the good we do for all communities we are in. Our present Church president is more important than even Joseph Smith was. But we do not worship him nor our church leaders. We do get wisdom from them as well as clearly benevolent advice and so on. Bill Maher runs us down saying our leader talks to GOD. I believe he listens to GOD.

Absolutely but consider it as voluntary.

A good way to think of it is to compare my church to the USA

My church seeks a tithe of merely 10 percent. But we do not force any member to pay this. Members seeking to tithe meet with their local clergy aka the Bishop and together they work out the amount of tithe. The Bishop never seeks to put members on trial for non payment nor send goons to collect the money.

Government. Orders you to pay per earning a percent that can range clear up to over half your income. And if you do not want to pay, they will put you into prison.

Democrats favor that but speak ill of my church.

Government to me has became a cult. A cult favored by Democrats.

I actually consider this to be very rational as opposed to the bigoted attacks against a church they simply do not know nor understand.

Essentially you criticized me and perhaps my motive as well.

I did want to post something interesting that is brief.
My motive was not to call out others as lousy as has happened to me over the brief comment, but to show off a female church members report to me.

She did not try to cover all the bases. She did not try to preach to me. That i felt was very interesting. Sadly bigots took the opportunity to lash out at me as Bigots normally do.
