You are right. My reference was showing the diameter of earth and radius of venus. However, the distance from the sun is a major factor and any comparison of earth of venus because of co2 makes no sense. About .04% of atmosphere is co2 and nearly 100% of venus is co2.

"In 2010 about 9 Giga-tons of Carbon (GtC) were emitted from burning fossil fuels as 33 Giga-tons of CO2 gas.

How much is 9 Giga-ton? 9 billion tons or 9,000,000,000,000,000 grams, or 19,800,000,000,000 pounds.

Can you imagine…9 Giga-tons is the weight of about 132 billion people. The amount of carbon we are putting into the atmosphere each year is equal to 20 times the weight of the current world population."

    That's kinda a lot.

Perhaps getting into the weeds is how folks continue to wish that they can continue to worship this fallacy. The point of the apology, by Schellenberger isn't to suggest that there is evidence that the climate is changing. Like all of us who have been critical of the hysteria, his point is that the science that documents the consequences of this current change are both vastly overblown to induce fear. And the mantra of the hysteria is apocalyptic doom, which, as he points out, is lunacy. This isn't about the mechanics of why climate changes, it's about the policy choices the idiots and power grabbers in the movement have attempted to destroy the world with.

What a science says it determined by that community of scientists.

If your blowhard wants to change that science, he can submit his thinking to one of the climate journals.

Having seen this circus a thousand times before, we all know that ain't gonna happen.

Show me the study that says that is true. They have done polls, but the agreement by scientists is far from 97%. The only way you get that 97% is a study which does not actually involve asking them that question.

Whatever are you yammering on about here? The full references and citations are a part of the assessment, by Schellenberger. That you aren't going to read it isn't surprising, but having not read it, your assessments seem emotional, and clearly not based on a real knowledge of the process that produced the studies that produced the evaluations you are now chafing against.

Making the claim that it is alarmist to warn of the impending deterioration of climate conditions and their consequent effect on human and animal life on the planet is a steaming pile of disproven horsesh**.

I suggest you read the book. Or at least the apology. here's a link.
    https://environmentalprogress.org/b...nmentalists-i-apologize-for-the-climate-scare

    quote from the book:

Why were we all so misled?

In the final three chapters of Apocalypse Never I expose the financial, political, and ideological motivations. Environmental groups have accepted hundreds of millions of dollars from fossil fuel interests. Groups motivated by anti-humanist beliefs forced the World Bank to stop trying to end poverty and instead make poverty “sustainable.” And status anxiety, depression, and hostility to modern civilization are behind much of the alarmism

Once you realize just how badly misinformed we have been, often by people with plainly unsavory or unhealthy motivations, it is hard not to feel duped.

Looks like you are a great example of those who have allowed themselves to be duped.

    Not how it works.

When things change, quite often a lot of guys will get left behind. Einstein was.

    It's still a community judgement.

Your argument seems to be with the author, the quote lays out his argument. Why can't you rebut that? You seem to believe that those were my words, they are not. They are, however, from the socialist author of the very scathing book that I am positive you won't read, but still seem emotionally wounded by. Enjoy.

The claim is that there is a 97% consensus. It is not even close to that. That claim is clearly misleading. If they have to use misleading information to convince people, then there is something wrong with their message.

So let's recap...this guy says that Climate Change is absolutely real but isn't that big a deal?

    That's novel.

Oh and he's a big proponent of nuclear energy.

    Yea...great

And while entirely true, this really isn't the point that Schellenberger is advancing here. The level of hysteria created around climate is a purposeful propagandized initiative that only has the goal of permanently creating "sustainable poverty" around the globe that has the effect of creating "permanent dependence" on the very few who control the "very limited" availability of both energy and food production.

Science deniers, Greta "climate goblin" Thunberg, and Alexandria "We'll all be dead in 12 years!" Ocasio Cortez.

Other than that, and a bunch of other left-wing lunatics, nobody else.

There is no argument any more than there is an argument about whether gravity exists. The evidence of which increases every day. If you insist on riding in the clown car don't expect not to be ridiculed.

Read the citations. His assertion is highly powerful non impactful energy production. He cites studies that estimate the amount of land required to be entirely renewable, it would require about 50% of the land area to produce it. I suggest reading either the apology, or the book.

And you believe this evidence because???? A complete understanding of the science? The consensus of the scientists? Because it is the political thing to do?

No one is arguing with you on that, are they? We are discussing the book and the apology for over hyping and politicizing the science that frankly doesn't support the hysteria that folks, like you, seem to be using for your profits or benefit.

And never forget it! I'm happy to see that my research was imprinted in your mind. One of these days you might even understand rational thought... who knows.
