Have you ever got any chance to try finding an answer to why you can't be the littlest challenge to me in this forum? I mean I don't make any comparisons but even the MandaZoboGlûck is way above your level. Do the math... Lol...

So, you have nothing, become personal, change the topic and reply to stuff nobody mentioned. No surprise.
Unlike you, I'm not interested in being or having a 'challange'. You seem to enjoy childish measuring contests, sorry I left junior high school years ago. Your typical two-faced rhetoric speaks volumes, let alone your turkish state propaganda. My mistake having expected anything half-way intelligent.

Because the EU is a medieval dictatorship. The will of the population in the EU does not matter. If the people of any country go against the tyrants of the EU - the tyrants of the EU are ready to reconcile the force.

In fact, the political structure of the EU countries continues to remain at the level of the wild Middle Ages. And modern Europe does not differ from the Europe of the times of the Crusades and Tarkwemada. They also now ready to burn people at the stake.

In addition, as we know, Spain is connected with Germany by special threads. You can remember at least Franco and Hitler. And now all branches of power in Spain are closely related to the German Fuhrer Merkel.

The Catalans should invite Putin to help hold a referendum on independence. And ask him to ensure security during this referendum. Only in this case will be heard the opinion of the people of Catalonia. Because there is no EU trust.

I'm not quite on the topic, although this has to do with getting independence from the EU monster - I heard today that the British government is ready to pay 40 billion euros for the EU. For the exit from the EU. .... I have no words .... Is it really true? You need to know .... At a time when savages are occupying Britain (through the fault of the EU), at a time when the economy of Britain is in crisis (job cuts, rising unemployment ... etc - through the fault of the EU) - is it really true that the government of the Kingdom is ready to pay 40 (!) billions of euros ???? !!!!....For what???!!! People in Britain live in abundance and prosperity?

    Pfftt.

Read my post again, slowly. It's the exact opposite of what you claim.

It's the rule of law that dictates Madrid's attitude toward the Catalans, not the will of the majority. The referendum for independence might be the will of the majority in Catalonia, but a minority of judges ("minority" compared to the number of Catalans) ruled against it based on the law. Minority wins, democratically.

Changing the law to suit the will of majority is compatible with democracy, but is not its raison d'etre. Democracy deals with individual freedoms and rights, specifically with the delicate balance between those freedoms and rights on one side, and the "greater good" of the society as a whole on the other side.

Go look for the ignorant and his courage elsewhere :p

Brains or brawn? This is the question

I was pfftt-ing on other forums long before I've come across you here.

    Humph.

There's a limit to the individual freedom of men to force women hide under mobile tents.

In other breaking news, I abandoned photobucket. Here's my post again:

I hope the image doesn't disappear again.

Yeah the "mobile tents" is perfectly explanatory term for showing how low the supposed democracy mongers like you could stoop... I would have been ashamed of myself speaking about individual rights and freedom after having described people of belief in such disgustingly intolerant and ignorant way. You my friend deserve N. Korea's standards... Iran would have been a resort for you... :)

Would you defend, in the name of democracy, "people of belief" who sacrifice human beings - or grey wolves - to their god?

There's a limit to individual freedoms, even for people of belief.

Wow... I honestly didn't think you might have something worse than disgustingly calling names to people of belief but you actually had: Equalizing human sacrifice with wearing headscarfs/burqas...

Can you go even lower? Lol...

    I said nothing about headscarves.

My point was that not all beliefs are equal. Some are too dangerous or obnoxious. Like turning women into property, forcing them to behave in a certain way or else.

If you want to continue this conversation, I suggest we do so in private, because we're off topic here.

Such a **** up. All they had to do was let the vote go ahead and say it was non-binding. Now, going in like Antifa thugs and beating people up who just wanted to ****ing vote they've pissed off the entire region and will guarantee total support for Catalan independence.

I wonder which moron came up with that gem? Oh yeah, the Spanish government.

I mentioned this Article before, it is applicable, the news item focuses on King Felipe VI’s speech in reaction to the events in Barcelona, they think it is a risky maneuver for the King to come out so blatantly against the Catalans.

Most people in Spain regard the Catalonian maneuver as primarily populist politics, and a bit outdated as the irritation with austerity measures applied after the real estate bubble burst are waning in a resurging economy. Even in Catalonia most don't favor separatism. As I mentioned before, there are seventeen autonomous communities in Spain, all have historical claims, these were the feudal kingdoms that were gradually married into and merged or conquered by neighbors and eventually consolidated into Spain over half a millennium ago.

The arguments that support Catalan independence are rooted in provincialism, maybe "parochialism"? A modern state should integrate and embrace diversity, welcome immigrants, embrace the globe, Catalunya was notorious for this, they hosted the Olympics in Barcelona, it is a very cosmopolitan city, brought us Dali and Gaudi, for Catalunya to turn to this provincialism is ridiculous, borders don't matter to Catalonians, they are citizens of the world, the most international of Spaniards.

Then there's this economic issue. Catalonia is Spain's financial powerhouse, they do generate more wealth, export more, they've got high quality textiles and printing, light industry, innovators in financial and insurance services, high tech and aeronautics. Very cutting edge. When the recession hit, everyone in Spain suffered, there was belt-tightening everywhere, austerity was the prescription and we pulled through, for Catalans to denounce having to sacrifice more for the hardest hit elsewhere seems greedy, as a nation all of Spain should pull together, those who are stronger need to make a better effort, this is what a nation is about.

What I wonder about most is the perspective of the military, how do the officers see this? The Guardia Civil is a very martial police force (they live in barracks, handle customs and coast guard duties, they also do what in the US is "highway patrol"), these have been deployed in high numbers to Barcelona, they are reviled by lefties as a fascist relic (baloney -they predate Franco by centuries). The military swears an oath to national unity. The Guardia Civil's motto is "Everything for the Nation".

The British court also at one time banned independence for the United States. However, everything happened differently. If you recall Europe, for example, the ally of Spain - Nazi Germany - there the court on the contrary allowed and supported the extermination of the Jews. But he forbade resistance to Nazism. Do not forget about Yugoslavia. In Yugoslavia, the court banned Kosovo terrorists, but the United States and other countries, including Spain, spit on this court. And I can show you such examples. Do you still want to appeal to the Spanish court?

By the way, Basques also began to demand independence. Soon I expect activity in Northern Ireland, Corsica ... etc. The Italian League of the North will also not stand aside from the process. But let's not forget about Texas and California. In general, I'll go buy popcorn. The Yugoslav boomerang is back.

It seems that some of the big banks are leaving Catalonia.
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...prepare-to-move-amid-fears-of-customer-exodus

Makes sense financially because if Catalonia becomes independent they are no longer a member of the EU making banking difficult as they are now dealing with essentially a foreign country.
I'm sure the EU are totally against it because it would mean another loss of income from a wealthy country, just like the loss from the UK. The other members of the EU will now have to make up the shortfall and with Poland and Hungary ready to flip Junker and Co. the finger this may just push them over the edge.

It's apparently in the Spanish constitution that it's illegal for any Spanish region to take any form of actions for independence. And foreign nation or EU got any authority over what is written in their constitution.

I can't say I approve of it all. Far from it.
