It’s not “pretty funny” it’s the truth. Estimates range but I’ve yet to see any that more than 5-7% of the south were slave owners. The other 90% could not afford too. I’ve no ideal where including slaves in the count would matter a bit, it was 90% of whites who did not.

It’s also worth remembering that the grandfathers of those who fought the Civil War had fought the Revolutionary War. Men on both sides certainly felt the need to defend what they felt their grandfathers had fought so hard for, be that the Union or the right to break away from it.

Slavery was a abhorrent disgusting practice, inhuman beyond any other. But it is not why the vast majority of men from the North took up arms not why those from the South did.

    Lol!

The massive raises of health insurance had been occurring since 2002. That is why Obamacare was conceived and despite constant effort by Republicans to screw it up, made it more affordable than the previous 10 years.

But now we have 3 years of Republican Rule, and not only have Republicans failed to get rid of Obamacare, 22 states have refused to accept almost free health care for the poor, have not added any plans to help middle income earners, and worst of all they have REFUSED TO INDEX HEALTH INSURANCE PAYMENTS TO THE COST OF HEALTH CARE!

So since Trump took over America, Trump has made insurance unaffordable and he has put out some of the most nutcase insurance that won't pay anything meaningful but people are deluded that they actually health insurance!

Now, in this pandemic, Trump has refused to make taking care of the massive health costs for our troops! Even National Guard are limited to 30 day callups so the government health insurance can't be used for our troops at 31 days! Then they send them home, and then call then back so they can be sent out to plague areas WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE!

One *******n day short to give them a chance to die!

Trump and the Republicans are scum!

That wasn't a violation of the constitution in 1859. The Union was trespassing on Confederate land and trying to take property that was on Confederate land.

Like I said, you're arguing based on revised history, or likely just ignorance.

Trump did not craft Obama care, but your democrats want to fine citizens without it (Thankfully Trump put a stop to that) and give "free" health care to millions of illegals. A pox upon democrat "leaders".

What's funny about more than 95% of the soldiers not owning slaves? That's a 100% proven fact, but doesn't really drive home the "War was about slavery" talking point, does it...

There was nothing affordable about obama's affordable care act either. Almost $500 a month for the bottom of the barrel premium and up to $12,500.00 out of pocket and that reset every year. Insurance so good you were penalized for not having it.

You're dealing with people who probably think William Ellison, the man who owned 53 slaves, was white. And these same people will overlook the black slave owners, 171 of them just in SC.

That's odd... I could afford it until obama forced his plan through. And it got higher and higher every year although the 1,000+ page book on it claimed it would get cheaper.

Its a extremely mis understood period.

If you were ask people which major America cities had riots where blacks were strung up in the streets during the Civil War, how many would say NYC?

The image of the nobel Northerner fighting to free oppressed black from their slave masters Southerners is not accurate.

The horrors of slavery are worldwide in history. The Southern States were as guilty as any others, More so in that they continued it longer IMO. But the rewriting of history to make the Civil War look like it was purely a war to end slavery was very dishonest.

    It’s not daily. Good Lord.

And they are inaccurate rocket attacks because they are powerless to use any other method.

ISIS is good at rolling over unarmed peasants. They don’t fare as well against armed peasants. They lose when they attack and military forces.

All due respect, but that’s not what should happen here. The FEDERAL government is in charge of things that effect the entirety of the country. That’s why they have the power to override the states. This is exactly what the founding fathers had in mind for a federal government. You cannot think that 50 governors, with 50 different ideas and common borders is a recipient for success during something like this. And what do we do about the poorer states who don’t have the means to attack it as well as the neighboring states ? Just wish the there neighbors well with “thoughts and prayers” ?

Hell, there are 5 states that don’t have shelter in place orders out, and all the other governors are pissed that they don’t, but they cant control that.

How many peon judges have stopped orders from the federal government? Countless times, Trump has issued travel bans from terrorist controlled states and was always blocked by a judge thousands of miles away. Now suddenly Trump is at fault for telling states what needs to be done and letting them handle it. I just don't get it.

I suggest you pay more attention at what is going on I Iraq. Iraq no longer wants us there. That mission is not complete.

I’m paying attention. Not really caring what Iraq wants.

That aside it changes nothing about the weakness and ineffectiveness of ISIS in their current state. They are weak and without the ability to project their will as they once were. Thankfully we have leadership who helped oversee that ass whopping.

if these things exist, just post them, I would

like I said, left or right, these people were stupid to trust Trump - see a real doctor, don't take medical advice from Trump

nope. Texas v White. States can not secede. There was no such thing as confederate land. It remained federal land for the entirety of the civil war.

Again, the supreme court has ruled on this. States have no mechanism or authority to secede, unless approved by congress. Texas v White.
