Conservatives pounce on Green New Deal that is backed by every 2020 Democratic frontrunner
    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...s-backed-by-every-2020-democratic-frontrunner

(can y'all handle x 2 intersecting news stories / sources - good U be the 'best & britest', lol)

Well well, it would appear that even the 'progressive' indoctrination camps (err, um Universities) haven't been able to snuff out completely, da' last germ of rational thought in these kids.

Apparently these young 'minds full of mush' undergrads see right through AOC's 'Green new Deal' in a way that our 'most venerable', spate of POTUS front runners, can't.... Or, are these candidates getting swept up in their own fiction; an obviously disingenuous, charade.... ? (what think U)

This is why the voting age should be 25...they agree with it before even knowing whats in it and when thwy find out it totally changes...no disrespect to young folks, i was equally as ignorant at that age

Do you honestly think that the apathetic, unexercised mind improves with age; it don't. Low information voters, if anything, become more jaded to political discourse as the peripheral snippets of MSM, Hollywood etc. swirl around them... Sad!

I think part of the issue is these kids clamor for high income taxes, then they complete their engineering degree and realise that 30% of their salary is being yanked, but by then it's too late and more lemmings have replaced them at uni.

Sadly though, most have the liberal arts degree and their Starbucks paycheck wont have that much taken out for taxes.

True, it's a lost decade for many.

For those who do the right thing and get a professional degree they're left with a debt of bondage to support the liberal arts graduates who don't recover and go into business, get married, etc.

Amazingly transparent bullshit spin. Reminds me of the ol' "death panel" chicken little episode of a while back. Either that or that guy spent way too much on his college education.

Here is the actual final text of the New Green Deal. Its a STATEMENT of intent, an outline of a strategy, not legislation mandating impossible nonsense.

But i get how America might not be up to a bold new transformative challenge to confidently and optimistically meet the future. Last time that worked, man went to the moon and the digital age was born.

Mitch the Turtle is going to put the bill up for a vote quickly so that Democrats can go on record supporting this boondoggle.

How are they going to get rid of air travel when California can't even build their bullet train?

I guess you missed the fun stuff in your very link.

Free college education, high wage union jobs for everyone, making every building in the US up to "green" standards, the cost of that alone will be hundreds of billions.

    What a complete joke.

If its a "high wage" job, why does it need a union?

I just read this morning that some top unions are now bashing the plan.

Kind of irrelevant since Pelosi is making fun of it the odds of it ever seeing the light of day are zero.

She called it the Green Dream lol.

Yep, they have been playing all these students saying they support AOC's Green new Deal. On the radio.....then what they say after they find out whats in it.

Its Hillarious to hear leftists try and walk back their support.

Yes, hundreds of billions spent, tens of millions employed and a transformation of the economy. Gridless virutally "free" energy based economy within a generation. Modernized (let alone repaired) transportation grid, road/rail/air/ship. to name two foundational economic drivers.

sure there is some far out stuff in there, its about a dream for the future and its wrapped up in a few too many warm and fuzzies, but at its core it is evidence based and worthy of major debate.

America became great by being bold. Not by turtling and pissing on each other.

I watched that video earlier today. It's worrying when they agree with something where they didn't know it's contents.

So how are you going to give everyone a high paying union job?

Did you hear this week that these same unions are saying this Green Deal is a bad plan and they will not get on board with it?

Like Pelosi said, this is the Green Dream and you my friend are asleep.

You can't give everyone a high paying union job. Who said that?

Its only 14 pages long. surely you could read what it actually says. I can't swallow the whole enchilada, but damn there are some very seriously good ideas in that plan.

    Not realistic ones.

    That is the issue.
