    HYPERLINK has full story

    snip

A growing number of Americans are having gay sex, or at least admitting to it. And that's OK with more and more of us....................

There has been little change in the number of people reporting exclusively homosexual behavior.................................

The number of U.S. adults who said they had at least one same-sex sexual partner doubled between the early 1990s - that question wasn't asked earlier - and the early 2010s, from 3.6 to 8.7 percent for women and from 4.5 to 8.2 percent for men. Bisexual behavior rose from 3.1 to 7.7 percent, accounting for most of the change.

The survey found that only 1.7 percent of men and 0.9 percent of women said they had exclusively homosexual sex.
    ..............

Women who attended church once a month or more were less likely to have sex with other women....................

About 10 percent of Midwestern men reported same-sex experiences, compared with 4.5 percent in the East, 7.1 percent in the West, and 9.4 percent in the South. Among women, 11.3 percent of those in the West said they'd had a same-sex experience, compared with 7.4 percent in the Midwest, 7.9 percent in the East, and 8.3 percent in the South.

    end snip

a couple of things were unexpected from this survey. First, those who exclusively engage in gay-sex is a much smaller number than I had believed due to a Gallup poll.

The next thing that surprised me is that people in the midwest are more prone to trying some gay-sex than in other regions. I honestly expected that to be in California/Oregon/Washington and not the midwest. I wonder what it is in the midwest that people try gay-sex.

The one part which did not surprise me is that true religious folks do not try gay-sex.

What are your take-aways from this survey?

Looking at the variations between different parts of the country and how gay sex was less common years ago than it is today, the only conclusion one could make is that it's a choice rather than something someone is born with. If it was something a person is born with then the numbers should be fairly equal over time and location, but they're not.

This survey reflects that people are now becoming more open about their sexual proclivities. The social taboo's are starting to die off....good riddance.

This trend of "coming out of the closet" and donking other dudes will fade soon enough. Remember when it was cool to have a mullet? And now looking back, if you see yourself with a mullet, it's instant embarrassment unless you truly enjoy a mullet. Soon, fairweather gays will be scrolling through their FB page and see themselves flamboyantly hanging all over other guys and get instantly embarrassed. As far as the polls, I don't really buy into them. I think people will write articles and claim that more and more are "trying it" in order to make the followers think it's ok.

I think there's a spectrum. Some are born wired to be gay, most hardwired to be straight, while some fall in the middle somewhere and can go either way (or both) depending on upbringing.

I don't think gay sex is any more, or less, common. It's simply no longer the idiotic social taboo that it once was, and is much more visible. People now are far more open about their sexuality-and so they should be.

    So do you.

This nonsense, sheesh. Why can't anyone just (*)(*)(*)(*) and mind what happens in their own damn bedrooms?

We have sex organs that look like they're designed by a committee, and idiotic taboos that shun and abhor sects of people for no reason other then the opinion of ideological demagogues and partisan politicians.

This is the political forum. You know what politics is? Politics is purposefully making life better for some people while purposefully making life worse for some other people.

Politicizing sexuality is an abomination of such epic and inhumane proportion as to be hilarious.

The left has politicized gay issues to the point where Clinton and Obama have switched horses in midstream.

The right has been politicizing sex since the invention of that blasphemous, heathen batch of idiotic ranting, the Bible. The right in the US has been politicizing sex and making it a point of corporal punishment since the colonies were first established.

The problem here is the right, not the left. The left wants equal protection; the right wants the right to damn and condemn, corporally punish and marginalize those who have sex differently then they claim to do.

Let it go. I don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) if every conservative only boinks their significant other in missionary. Not my prerogative, not my business.

You would all do well to feel the same instead of worrying about who's dick is going into who's ass and why.

I think there might be an extremely small number of people who were born gay. The left likes to say being born gay is genetic. Well, if true, how did such a precise genetic defect spread throughout the entire world (except Iran) while other genetic traits didn't? If a genetic defect like this can travel throughout the world then we should see similar genetic traits such as black skinned, bigged nose/lip Irishmen, or Chinese people with afros and they should be as common in numbers as gay people. And what makes it even more unlikely that this gay genetic defect would spread is that being gay pretty much dooms the end of that defect from being passed on. Instead we see gays with this defect who number in the millions. Hmmm.

My belief is that the way these people were raised and the environment they lived in drove them to gay preferences, and as proof I offer up my sister who was in a loving relationship with a man until it went sour and it was at that point she decided never to be with another man again.

Also, you would think our survival instinct would reign supreme over all other instincts, yet people will sacrifice themselves for their countries or strap bombs to their chests and blow themselves up. If people can be brainwashed into killing themselves for a particular reason then I think people can be brainwashed into believing just about anything and that includes their sexuality.

This survey differs from many others I have seen as far as the similarity between the percentages of males and females switch hitting. I have seen the number for women double that of men in the past. Anecdotally, I have known only 1 switch hitting male compared to at least 20 women that have experimented in the past. I just don't buy 1 out of 12 males experimenting with gay sex.

No one is denying sex is a choice.

Attraction however is not a choice.

And to state once again in another one of sec's threads: you don't have to be "born that way" or for something to be genetic for it to not be a choice.

Corporal punishment since the colonies? Really? You had to go back that far. It's been said many times on this board that people have a right to free speech but will have to suffer the social consequences of it. Same with all this gay stuff. If someone is going to rub my nose with their gay agenda then they will suffer the consequences if I or others disapprove. I don't go rubbing my straightness on you so why would you rub your gayness on me? Heck, how would I even know you're gay unless you tell me? So keep your mouth closed and your zipper shut and there won't be a problem.

Gay agenda? What is this groupthink gay agenda? Seems the counter is true, though; there really is a homophobe agenda.

As for your other quote. I'm not a progressive bleeding heart liberal. I never claimed tolerance.

My point is you are wasting your time worrying about which (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) a dick goes into. Your opinion goes into fuelling an inhumane crusade against human rights.

It's time for that to end.

Forget about coming out the closet.

Make Progressives happy and return to ancient Greek and Roman times, where everybody banged whoever they pleased, regardless of sex or age.

I don't think it has anything to do with the behavior increasing, as much as it does people who will now admit it.

You're not as likely to admit to something on a survey that could get you killed back in the day.

You hit upon the point that I continue to make.

A: there is no medical proof that one is "born homosexual"
B: despite that, the govt has deemed "homosexuals" as a protected class
C: that means that things like religious freedom are suspended when "homosexuals" demand their protected class
D: Given B:, the enxt step like we now see in Europe and Canada are "hate speech laws" and yes, they exist elsewhere. If you simply voice your opposition to the gay lifestyle you risk arrest under hate-speech laws.

That is where I see the USA heading if we elect another Democrat as POTUS. We will see a very vocal minority insist that the GOVT must be the arbiter of what they the minority view as offensive and punish accordingly. Hate speech laws should never ever be discussed but I fear that the "gay rights" movement is the start of instituting govt censorship of speech. ALL over how 2 people CHOOSE to have sex

A personal study of mine on certain Internet blogs shows that a lot of anti-gay men....have homosexual fantasies but believe as long as they don't actually have actual homosexual sex....they're "not gay."

    - - - Updated - - -

Male Homophobes don't care about lesbianism....or even enjoy watching it.

The straight ones get off on "hot girl-on-girl action".....the self-hating closeted types only fantasize about male homosexuality and don't get upset about female homosexuality.

    - - - Updated - - -

Where did you get the impression that Donald Trump is anti-gay?

I thought the topic was your obsession with gay people? It's all you ever talk about, so what else could it be?
