People use guns to commit suicide because they are sure they want to die.
Why do you believe half these people wont use a bus or a bridge instead?

 

But the other half who are less sure could be saved. That is hundreds of thousands of lives.

 

To bad, the ignorance of some people doesn't not mean we relinquish the freedoms of people.

 

You miss the point.
If you plan to use a gun to commit suicide, you are committed to the idea of dying.
Thus, there is no sound argument that -any- of them could be saved.

For every gun used to commit suicide, >16,000 are not.
Conclusion: We need more gun control!!!
