Sure, but it's the "self defense" part that makes it legal. Not the "mass shooting" part.

Regardless, manufacturers aren't going to be held accountable for illegal usage of a legal product unless they somehow participated in marketing it for illegal uses.

They are deemed safe because the regulators have been bribed to accept the product for distribution..
Water is an example of a safe substance yet it can kill a human in more ways than one.

    It's extremely safe.

Accidental deaths from guns is 0.4% of all accidental deaths.

If it was extremely safe then one hundred percent mortality free should be easily obtained.

Um, accidental bathtub drownings kill more people than accidental gun deaths.

Well of course self defense is legal. You know let's call it "volume shooting " so does not sound illegal. LOL

At least they died cleanly. That has to be a positive.

Would not the Democrat party not have a case in suing MSNBS and Rachel Mancow for making them stupid?

    HELL NO!

Do you want people to sue car manufacturers for DUI fatalities?

Do you want people to sue utensil manufacturers for their obesity?

Do you want people to sue pool manufacturers for the drownings?

    The list is endless.

We do need to do something about assault spoons. Those things really pack on the pounds.

A terrorist used a rented box truck to kill 84 people and injure hundreds more in Nice, France.

Should the survivors and victims families sue the rental company? Sue the truck manufacturer?

You obviously failed to read or understand what I wrote. You obviously knee jerked to a comment without reading or even making an attempt to comprehend.

Do you understand what " I would like to believe that the courts will be reasonable and the parents will not prevail". Do you understand what " prevail" means?

Do you understand that when I wrote that if such a case is won it would destroy the gun industry that is something not good. Not good for our manufacturing. Not anything. Neither I nor any reasonable person would want that except the anti gun freaks would.

This is the back door way to usurp the 2nd amendment .

The idea has been around for years.

You did not see that I said " case dismissed " that meant I do not want the parents case to prevail because it is not the fault of the manufacturer.

100% of them. If we are going to move the goal posts around, lets talk about forks causing obesity and diabetes? How far are we willing to move away from personal responsibility?

The Judge shouldn't even allow this to get to trial and throw it out because congress passed the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) in 2005 protecting firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when crimes have been committed with their products.

The only one liable is the one who pulled the trigger. No one else bears any responsibility.

I also feel that blaming the actions of drunks on bars is wrong.

    Next up:

Class action lawsuits against all cutlery manufacturers, fast food restaurants, and all processed food manufacturing companies, for America's obesity epidemic.

Agree with you but Dram Shop acts laws exist in most states so bars can legally be sued if they sell or give drinks to an already drunk or near drunk patron. At least until the laws are changed.

Yes that act alone should have prevented this case from going forward. That is why I am surprised the courts allowed it to go forward.

I think this lawsuit is beyond stupid. The gun companies didn't create Adam Lanza, directly or indirectly. Hell, I'd be more willing to believe that the entertainment and media industries are more at fault, and I don't think even they are at fault at all. But the gun companies? This is just hijacking one issue to fight against another.
