Saudi 'body double' in Khashoggi's clothes after he was killed, Turkish source says

Istanbul (CNN)A member of the 15-man team suspected in the death of Jamal Khashoggi dressed up in his clothes and was captured on surveillance cameras around Istanbul on the day the journalist was killed, a senior Turkish official has told CNN.

CNN has obtained exclusive law enforcement surveillance footage, part of the Turkish government's investigation, that appears to show the man leaving the consulate by the back door, wearing Khashoggi's clothes, a fake beard, and glasses.
The same man was seen in Khashoggi's clothing, according to the Turkish case, at the city's world-famous Blue Mosque just hours after the journalist was last seen alive entering the consulate on October 2.
The man in the video, identified by the official as Mustafa al-Madani, was allegedly part of what investigators have said was a hit squad, sent to kill the journalist at the Saudi consulate during a scheduled appointment to get papers for his upcoming wedding.

I assume you haven't seen the complete footage of the 'body double'. He came WITH the 15 murderers to the consulate in different clothing. The same individual seen on video leaving the consulate by the back door, wearing Khashoggi's clothes, a fake beard, and glasses. Turkey intelligence confirmed the man in the video, was identified as Mustafa al-Madani, was part of a hit squad, sent to kill the journalist. Madani, 57, who is of similar height, age and build to Khashoggi, 59, was used as a decoy for Khashoggi.

Saudi's forensic medicine chief Salah al-Tubaiqi, another key suspect who was identified using facial recognition analysis. The video appears to show Madani without a beard, wearing a blue and white checked shirt and dark blue trousers. When he exited the consulate dressed as Khashoggi, the video then appears to show him wearing the same dark pair of sneakers with white soles that he first arrived in prior to the journalist's death. "Khashoggi's clothes were probably still warm when Madani put them on," the senior Turkish official told CNN.

Later on, he and an accomplish were seen at the Blue Mosque where he disappeared into a men's room and emerged wearing his plaid shirt and carrying a plastic bag.

The word is 'hear' and I'm sure the US government has already heard it.

Then KSA must be really confused as to who they accidentally killed and chopped up.

Evidently the double had different shoes on however. Hence The Saudis didn't continue with the hoax and just kept quiet and made up a series of different stories each day. Among thirty-somes who are trying to run countries, the crown prince ranks way down below Chairman Kim Jong Un.

You often post intelligent things here. I realize you are relatively new "hear". Don't be the grammar police. It destroys credibility.

I care about proper usage of the English language and care about preserving it. It's becoming less and less important it seems and I believe just the opposite is true, it builds credibility. Communication is a learned skill, to express oneself well and successfully, people must learn how to communicate effectively. Grammar lays the groundwork for effective communication and is equally important at home where children learn their grammatical patterns from their parents and family.

This is a ****ing forum dude. If you want to play grammar police, create a thread about grammar. What you are doing is derailing threads. Everyone knew exactly what he meant.

Post number 6 of the thread. Defer back to your post regarding a user's grammar. It's derailing your own thread.

So why hasn't Turkey shut the consulate down? Why get the US involved? Why not let the media have access to the audio? Why did the CIA chief go to Turkey to investigate and not someone from the FBI?

Because democratic countries should not do any business with despotic regimes that murder at will. Trump should be as outraged as the Canadians are, as the French are, as the Germans are. We should ALL be outraged that a journalist was murdered and right in the consulate of his country! Chancellor Angela Merkel said Germany will cut arms sales to the Saudis. German is the the first major U.S. ally to take action, and God bless them for that! Canada will be the next to take actions since it was Canada that protested the arrest of human rights activists by Saudi Arabia this past summer. Democracies absolutely cannot tolerate brutality, oppression and blatant murder of their enemies and Saudi Arabia should suffer the same sanctions as Russia with the Magnitsky Act.

The FBI is a U.S. federal government agency and must be invited to participate by the host country which is Turkey.

The FBI is also a US federal agency and their job is to "investigate." What is the CIA's job? Collect intel. So why the CIA, especially the CIA chief and not the FBI? Your response doesn't answer the question?

Um ...an investigation is.....wait for it...the collection of information. That is what the CIA does, in its purest form. Their tools are invaluable to an investigator.

So you're saying the CIA goes to crime scenes and collects evidence? They look for finger prints and blood and weapons that might have been used? Is that what you believe the CIA is trained to do? And why send the CIA chief?

When the crime may involve foreign intelligence agents? Yes. Absolutely. Are you saying they do not?

And obviously the chief is there to ensure an appearance of complete diligence. Remember, the Saudi horseshit story is that these were rogue actions by rogue agents. The CIA is wise not to open itself up to similar criticism.

It's not the job of the FBI, the CIA is there, what more could you ask for?

Yes, the CIA chief is there. Investigating a possible murder of a journalist. Strange choices for a murder case.

I'm saying the FBI is far betted suited for this type of investigation. The CIA's primary responsibility is gathering intel. Not evidence of a murder. I'll give you the last word.

The CIA collects intel. The FBI collects evidence. The FBI is better suited for this type of work. Come on, we both know why the CIA chief is there instead of experienced FBI agents and a forensic team.
