If China invades Taiwan it will not be the US who starts the war. It will be the US who ends the war.

And yes. Taiwan is our friend.

That doesn't seem likely to work. It would be OK to try it for a few days though just to see if it does work.

America's weapons are not a fantasy.

I speak only for myself. If others agree with me, that shows their wisdom. If you are unable to confront people who post facts, that is your loss.

Well, thoughts and prayers my friend.

I'm afraid that's all we got for now. Good luck and all.

Yea, whole US Economy will be destroyed, prices go through the roof and then U.S. will hand over Taiwan to mainland China with apologies.
Actually, I do not understand what is a point to waste third of the budget just for military games.

    So be it.

    That will never happen.

The point is to prevent us and our allies from being conquered and enslaved.

We still live in a world of great powers struggles. China is becoming a peer competitor and will demand control of their sphere of influence, just as the U.S. does. They will not much longer permit an independent Taiwan, allied with the U.S.

I don't mind, but someone should make a choice, either US is a superpower or US is a China's slave.
Otherwise, it is extremely stupid to waste so much money just to please military-industrial complex without any kind of goal in sight.

What kind of goal do you think they have? World domination? No, that was never the reason why we spend on military.

When will this fairytale discussion about Taiwan end? First off, they aren't our friends. We are their friends as long as we keep buying the crap they produce.....which is the SAME agreement as with China. The Japs don't like us. The Koreans only tolerate us because we keep pumping money in their country...and buying the crap they produce.

It's the same with Ukraine. We are their friends as long as our dumbasses keep pumping money into their country. As long as US taxpayers keep paying to 'make friends', then Ukraine is our friend.

Reminder, the Korean War is still ongoing....we can't win it. We lost the Vietnam War. We lost in Afghanistan. And you folks think we could win a war against Russia in Ukraine or China in Taiwan? LMAO. Ain't happening. The only kind of war we could possible win is an economic war, but that would mean production in the US....which is impossible with the current regulatory and tax burden. Our foreign policy sucks donkey balls. And has ever since we entered the European theater in WW2.

America has been very good in wars against peer competitors like imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, and the Soviet Union in the long term, and ineffective at war with developing tribal states like Afghanistan. We have a good. We have advantages over China in a long Cold War, but full scale military conflict would be a lot more dangerous.

What exactly is our advantage over China in a 'long Cold War'? We buy all our **** from China. They could crust us economically.

We only beat Japan by using nukes. We were never in a war with the Soviet Union...the 'Cold War' was neither a conventional or economic war for the most part....the Soviet Union failed because it was founded on a system that always fails. We couldn't have beat Nazi Germany without the Soviet Union...unless we nuked half of Europe....but the Soviets were well on their way to beating the Nazis without us. They lost 25 million lives for a reason.

We won Grenada. And destroyed Yugoslavia.

So, are you assuming we won’t have any allies in a conflict with China?

China, like the Soviet Union, has a political/social system with many internal conflicts, inherently less stable than our American democracy. China is surrounded by neighboring nations likely to it’s dominance, while the U.S. is protected by two vest oceans. So, unless you’re expecting a sudden full scale military conflict, the geopolitical advantages decidedly favor the U.S.

The execution of a cowardly and dishonorable retreat was executed by Joe Biden ordering our military flee Bagram in the middle of the night.

It was hardly done secretly in the middle of the night, and the retreat was negotiated by the previous administration. The Taliban knew we would be leaving. Trump made a deal with them to do so. We were actually behind the schedule Trump had surrendered to.

A non nuke war will have way more of an economic impact on China than the US. They are dependent on energy imports via the South China Sea which one would think our Navy could shut down. I read a good paper on this that I recall was authored by the Rand Corp.

They're also extremely dependent on exports of consumer goods. It would be a really *interesting* situation if there were a war between China and western powers, since it's hard to imagine those exports continuing under such circumstances.

You think so? Do you think our 'friend' Australia that is dependent on energy exports (coal) to Asia and China would be happy to shut down their exports? I don't think so. China is currently contracting with Russia to supply energy. Once that happens, it will be like Nordstream.....not gonna get shut off no matter what. We don't have friends...we have leeches.

The US makes no such demand.

China will be destroyed if they insist on conquering Taiwan.

We were doing pretty good in Afghanistan before Joe Biden pulled us out for no reason.

    The US is a superpower.

The goal of having a powerful military is to protect us and our allies.

South Korea is still there last I looked.

We were doing fine in both countries and then leftist politicians betrayed everyone and pulled us out for no reason.

Smashing Russia and China would be trivially easy. The US Navy would have no trouble blocking all of their shipping throughout the world. And the US Air Force would relentlessly bombard them until there was little in their country left to target.

We beat Japan by besting their soldiers on the ground.

But we do have nukes to fall back on if we ever face an enemy that we cannot beat conventionally.

You're welcome. It is always a pleasure to post the truth.

Russia in particular will be easy to smash. The US Navy can clear the oceans of all Russian shipping, and the US Air Force can bombard them from the air until there is nothing left to bomb.

Ah... the ol' quote, propoganda networks.
The accounts of Syrian tyrants, rule over Lebanon, stationing of Soviet and Russian military,
attacks on Israel, attempts to shut down the Jordan River, destruction of Homs, murder of
political dissidents etc are all 'propoganda network' stuff.
Tell me, where do YOU get your pure, unadulterated news from?

So, what was the 1962 blockade of Cuba about, or the invasion of Granada?
