Elizabeth Warren wants to create a Justice Department task force to investigate Trump administration corruption
    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/21/eli...sk-force-to-investigate-trump-corruption.html

Presidential contender Elizabeth Warren said on Tuesday that she intends to create an independent task force within the Department of Justice that will investigate corruption by government officials during the Trump administration if she is elected president.

The Massachusetts senator announced the plan as part of a plan to restore “integrity and competence” to the federal government after President Donald Trump leaves office.
    ......................................................................................................
The DoJ would really have to staff up to take on an investigation as sweeping as Trump's corruption. It would take years to scratch the surface. He's filled the admin with grifters like himself. Just the breaches of security protocols like hiring people who have not been vetted or cleared to have national security clearance credentials would take months to look in to.

Whistleblower: White House overruled 25 security clearance denials
The individuals 'had a wide range of serious disqualifying issues' including drug use and criminal conduct, aides wrote in the 10-page memo.

EXCELLENT talking point for Fauxcahontas instead of specific, REASONABLE policies to benefit American taxpayers... more and more investigations, surely that's the ticket to the Oval Office. Winner Winner at the polls with centrist voting taxpayers who start their day clamoring for the federal government that taxes them so onerously to conduct ever more investigations with their tax dollars! It's right there on the list of citizen concerns...at #865.

"The progressive Democrat cited a report by a nonpartisan good government group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which found “unprecedented” corruption in the Trump administration, as well as other reports of self-dealing among administration officials and the president’s family members."

I don't think Warren should go there. Let Trump and minions shout "lock her up" at their political rallies. We are better than that.

Let history be the judge, eventually filling the books about the most corrupt administration.

After Durham completes his investigation of the Obama Administration's Intelligence, Justice and FBI communities, an investigation by any Democrat. Especially when the only alligations only exist in the liberal imagination.

"Trump and minions" might yell "lock her up" at rallies, but at least they do not attack those that rally in support of an opposition Candidate. At least we do not have liberal town officials force opposition rally attendants through a group of protestors, and then stand back to watch them get physically attacked by the so-called peace loving liberal protestors. To make matters worse, they blamed the victims for the attacks. You really want to claim the high road in the face of BLM, ANTIFA and other violent extremist liberal groups?

I agree that we should let history judge. It sure is judging the Obama Administration hard.

D.C. attorney general sues Trump inaugural committee over $1 million booking at president’s hotel
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...4ffab6-3c90-11ea-b90d-5652806c3b3a_story.html

D.C. Attorney General Karl A. Racine sued President Trump’s inaugural committee and business Wednesday, alleging that the committee violated its nonprofit status by spending more than $1 million to book a ballroom at Trump’s D.C. hotel that its staff knew was overpriced and that it barely used.

During the lead-up to Trump’s January 2017 inauguration, the committee booked the hotel ballroom for $175,000 a day, plus more than $300,000 in food and beverage costs, over the objections of its own event planner.

The committee was formed to organize the events around the inauguration, but Racine alleges it instead “abandoned this purpose and violated District law when it wasted approximately $1 million of charitable funds in overpayment for the use of event space at the Trump hotel.”

The Democrat Party is just a freak show. They have no ideas. It's just become the "Orangeman Bad Party".

They aren't all like this. I happen to know a few liberals with common sense (yes I know, hard to believe) that still vote for trump for economic and national defense reasons but still bash Trump and lie about who they vote for to their liberal friends

LOL....YEAH.......that is precisely what we are missing.....investigations into the Trump administration! I am left to wonder why is it that nobody has thought of this before?

    What a novel idea!

Funny that all the violence that right wingers were ignorantly, or is that dishonestly, claiming was the cause of the left, was stoped once the police began arresting and charging with felonies members of the violent right wing gangs.

This might be the last straw for Warren. I cannot imagine a less inviting issue for voters in November - more investigations. Americans will have had more than enough of Trump and interminable investigations of him or Hillary, or who next.

Smart Dems know this and have moved on.

You should get out of the right wing media bubble more often. There's a whole world out there you are apparently unaware of.

Point taken. Perhaps she just doesn't to repeat Obama's mistake of not holding the banks or the Bush admin accountable for the horrific things they did to the country.................like President Skidmark.

I agree this is not a very strong strategy for campaigning on, but eventually anyone who assumes the presidency will have to clean up this mess, and from what I hear coming from all the WH leaks, it's a doozy of a pile of crap we're going to have to clean up.

I don't know if it's a good idea to announce it, but I think it needs to be done. It has to be done very carefully. A task force as non-partisan as possible. And the main purpose is not necessarily to punish the culprits (though the most flagrant illegal acts need to be addressed) but to propose legislation so that it won't be repeated.

Consider the fact that this is the second Republican administration in a row that carries out horrendous acts under the cover of the Unitary Executive Theory: the theory that basically states that the President has unlimited powers.

There will be a next Republican administration one day. What would prevent them from doing the same?
