    For pitys sake....

You really don't think rich people demand more than poor people?

Have you ever received a paycheck?
Did you spend any of it?

Did you ever get a raise.
    Did you buy more stuff?

no. the driving factor of the economy is the middle class and below. They are the mass consumers.

taxes have no relevance or relation to demand. This is basic econ 101.

All that tax cuts did was make companies up executive bonus's, and boost share holders by doing massive stock buy backs. Thats it.

My taxes are actually going up because of his stupid tax policy. Because he structured it in a way to punish democratic states.

You need to go back to school.

More disposable income always results in more spending.

If you didn't know that you need to demand a refund for your elementary school education.

    why?
    no it doesn't.

I'm sorry that righties suck at economics, but that doesn't change the facts. Taxes have no relevance to demand.

Tax cuts increase demand through additional disposable income.

You class warfare leftist all out ignore facts in order to push your position. In the US, our federal government is almost exclusively funded by the top 50% of income earners.

It doesnt even make sense the nonsense posted.

Right right.. the bull market and crazy unemployment rates are not representative of trickle down.

So blinded by hatred, you cant even see reality.

The study only evaluated supply side. Warning flag number one.

    Also...

We find that, while there is no doubt that tax policy can influence economic choices, it is by no means obvious, on an ex ante basis, that tax rate cuts will ultimately lead to a larger economy in the long run.

Over the long term? I see, that is an subjective term, using the natural economic cycles to dismiss any benefit.

I'm just curious. In your opinion, why is our economy booming right now. What is the cause?

The cause is that we're on a 9 year trend of an improving economy. Unless you believe in time travel, tax cuts had nothing to do with that.

BTW, where's a study supporting your claim? Placing money in the hands of a very few through targeted tax cuts doesn't create wide spread demand or jobs. We're seeing what the rich and corporations do with extra cash--and it's not what you claim.

Caused by what? What happened 9 years ago the stimulated the economy?

    You mean... hire people?

Right--tax cuts don't cause hiring. Where's your reasoning on that issue?

BTW, the economy improving was caused by a number of factors, but the economy tends to move in cycles. It certainly wasn't started by tax cuts.

So., no. You can't explain why the economy grew, only to say that it wasn't from tax cuts.

    Got it.

Uh, yeah, great point. Isn't this thread about whether tax cuts create jobs?

The answer is "yes", and if that's the case, why do I need to "prove" what turned the economy around when we both know that it wasn't tax cuts?

If you want to discuss something like that, start a thread.

The bull market and increasing employment rates have been in effect since Obama's first term and have basically been on a steady trajectory right throught the Trump presidency( at least till recently when the market has been tanking) As far as I recollect Obama didn't do any major tax cuts that would have bedn responsible for the growth of the economy or employment or the stock market.

No wonder red staters are so dirt poor. They spend whatever they make without thought to saving for retirement.

It’s obvious that tax cuts for the rich and supply side doesn’t work. After each one, ( 9of the last 10) we ultimately get a recession while having a glut of oil, autos sitting unsold on the lots and undervalued homes going on the market from bankruptcies. The supply is always abundant during recessions. But the biggest consumers, the middle class, are creating less demand, they have fewer good paying jobs and disposable money. This last tax cut gave 80% benefit to the top 1%. Here comes another recession in the next two years. It’s about education and universal healthcare, two things that help the middle class most that the gop hates the most.
