Should teachers and Professors remain neutral on their political views ? Especially during elections?. Should they support and all both liberal and conservative students to state their opinions without putting without braking sides?

I say yes. They should remain neutral. My two college age students have repeatedly told me they don't want to speak up in class because their professors chastise them. They are both moderate Republicans.

As a parent who pays their tuition, it ticks me off. Especially when the cour
se being taught has nothing to do with politics.
I would never pay to send them to the most liberal colleges and universities where they try to brainwash them and speak against moderates and Republicans.

Teachers and professors should be neutral, at least in the classroom setting. Outside the classroom, they should be free to be as political as they want to.

I don't think it's practical to impose some sort of political neutrality to teaching at the college level.

    Yes.

Universities commit fraud in that they charge a fee to attend a class. If the fee is NOT actually for information on the advertised topic - and instead REALLY is for political indoctrination or political declarations - then this should be declared up front. Otherwise, it is outrageous outright commercial and consumer fraud.

What about if you paid $50 to attend a musical, and instead someone got up and gave a 1-hour lecture telling you how you should vote and how evil the USA and one of the political parties are? Would you walk out? Demand your money back? Yet that is EXACTLY what many universities do.

How much would YOU pay to attend a 45-minute political lecture? $50? $100? $500? But that is what universities are deceptively and covertly doing. They advertise one service and then do not provide it. In short, they lie to get money. It is consumer fraud at best. University SELL classes on ADVERTISED topics that students PAY FOR. To do a bait-and-switch is outright consumer fraud.

Why? Is it practical to allow professors to take sides? Or to speak against a students view when the whole topic is personal opinion to begin with, no right or wrong. Colleges and universities providing counseling to cry baby students upset because in their candidate wasn't elected? Really? Don't remember that when happening when Obama or any other recent President was elected. Republicans were not cry babies when Obama was elected, most of us just hoped for the best. Bill Clinton turned out o.k. Obama, IMO, not so much. But for professors to side with their democrat students is plain wrong.

It's probably impossible to do so, but it should be in the code of ethics that professors and teachers should abide by.
