    HYPERLINK above has full story

    snip

Following this announcement, the Victorian Department for Education told teachers that if they choose to remain unvaccinated, they can either go on paid leave or make arrangements with their employer to continue work from home until the end of 2021. However, once the 2022 academic year begins on January 28, unvaccinated teachers will be classified as “absent without leave.” If they fail to be vaccinated by April 28, their contracts can be legally terminated for failing to comply with public health orders.

tyranny knows no end in Australia. Sadly, the folks acquiesce to it. This rule isn't even based on science given what we are learning (from Forbes )
Prior Covid Infection Is As Effective At Preventing The Virus As Vaccination, U.K. Study Suggests https://www.forbes.com/sites/jemima...accination-uk-study-suggests/?sh=5e7b1e79589f

Other than being drunk with power as the reason, why would these incompetent politicians make such a mandate that has no science behind it? Why do the folks support these incompetent politicians?

As bad as it is here in the US, it's far worse in Australia, NZ and Canada, totally out of control.

My condolences to the unarmed citizenry of those countries.

His case is that if you will just allow govco to run your everyday life, tell you what to do, when to do it and stay inside and lock down for over a year then you may not get covid.

im sorry but man do I feel sorry for the aussies. At one time a bunch of freedom loving, anti gov, anti tax, independent SOBs………now, just a bunch of sheep being lead by commies.
    Freakin sad.

That is human psychology at play, isn't it?

"Get onboard with the program", a simple one-size fits all solution that is imposed on all in society.

and human belief, what people want to believe, and how their beliefs are formed (it's far less logical than most people automatically assume)

It's almost like pre-programmed responses and thought processes have been inoculated into people. This thing is like a religion!

    I fully applaud this.
When anti-vaxxers do not care how much more sick they can get, and do not care that they can spread the virus to so many more other people,... and so do not care they are a massive pain to society that they do not care about, then why should society care about them lot? I really would not know.

And firearms stop you getting COVID how?

FYI there are are approximately 3.5 million registered firearms in Australia. Now this 'unarmed' thing you were pontificating about. How does that work exactly?

anti-vaxxer. What a cute, left-wing term to try and portray people who voice concerns over a shot. Did you not even pay attention to the Forbes article about natural immunity as good as the vaccine?

I wonder if you call the "pro-life" folks what they really are, anti-baby murder. Of course the answer would be no because that portrays your position in a negative light and would never call folks baby-murderers, instead, label them a warm and fuzzy term of "pro choice"

Do you see how it works?

Much cuter then you lot calling things fascistic.

Oh I see how this works. You right wing lot started pushing your pro-life choice down other people's throats not having any control over their body. And now the tables have turned... it's an endless stream of complaining and whining, demanding to be your boss over your own body and everybody else must respect that.

This just adds to my idea that we just should hear the minority with it's loud voice about not wanting to be vaxxed, but just do nothing about it.

Firearms cannot stop one from getting viral infections, but good nutrition and a strong immune system can.

Firearms can greatly assist in defeating criminal bastards in government though.

    Two different things Monash.

And yet cemeteries are full of people who ate well and had strong immune systems. But then history, medicine & apparently current affairs have never been strong points of yours have they.

And this is despite the fact Australian are most definitely not 'unarmed' as you stated and there has not been the slightest sign of armed 'opposition' to our quarantine measures. Why its almost like the vast majority of Australians actually agree, however begrudgingly with what their governments have been trying to achieve during lock down.

Of course it it helps that we have the US as an example of what happens when you don't deal with COVID effectively. It really incentivized people who ordinary don't have much regard for our governments to get on board. Thanks for doing your bit in that regard BTW.

... things are not so terrible here just yet.

chances are... if I have more free time..... I will stir up more trouble online......

    No, they have not.

I've been listening to Americans lecture us on 'freedom' for decades. Maybe 5% of them knew enough about Australia to find it on a map without google. Our freedoms are doing just fine, and we didn't have to get tens of thousands of people dead to prove a meaningless point.

I guess if your idea of 'freedom' is to threaten or throw violent tantrums whenever you don't get what you want and your idea of the ideal society is one where anyone you deem 'weak' is left for dead then a nation of people acting like adults to protect the vulnerable is literally incomprehensible.

And yet the term “ati-vaxxer” has been around long enough to be listed in the dictionary
