Did you know that to date, there's no proof that Jussie Smollet was attacked (scratched in the face apparently) by racist MAGA hat wearing white thugs, yet the media, politicians, and celebrities basically accept it as gospel?

He is most likely lying — too many of those faux hate crimes that seem to be missing parts of the story are often twisted narrative or outright fabrications.

As to the “kids” in the OP — their race should be irrelivant outside of statistical analysis and policing practices — why it has been brought up multiple times in racist contexts (@ModCon @Stonewall Jackson @Steve N) simply detracts from the tragedy. We shouldn’t waste hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars attempting to rehabilitate them, they need to be permanently removed with a single $0.14 round to the back of the head. Which just happens to be their worth.

You take someone’s life outside of self defense, you forfeit your own.

Reporters and media are more likely to publish stories about issues that fit into their agenda. It is the reason why posters always start threads about issues that fit into their agenda. Have you seen any threads lately about the price of wooden toothpicks?

Oh I agree 100% there is a disparity between crime reporting and race of the perpetrators, especially when it is classified as a hate crime. Race should be irrelevant except in policing, all crime is a hate crime. But racial remarks only detract from the argument and give your opponents ammunition to avoid or derail the actual discussion.

 

I used the term dinndus intentionally, for reasons which haven't yet come to fruition. Plus, well, it's fitting... specifically it references the Travon and Michael Browns of the world.

 

because you know dam well if it was the rare occasion of black victim and white perpetrators race would be the fore front racism and a hate crime would atomically be assumed
but that doesn't happen when we have to oh so common white victim and black perpetrators it barely gets reported outside of local news and just as rare they mention race in its reporting most of the time you don't know the race of he victim or perps unless they post pictures
on the other hand black victim white perpetrators their race would be in the headline

 

According to the news the kids had robbed the guy of his wallet and wanted his car. They had two stolen guns and were driving a stolen pickup truck. He refused to give them the keys so they shot him and he later died.

So what is the lesson to be learned from this incident?

If you are being robbed at gunpoint it might be a very good idea to give the robbers what they want. They could still end up shooting you but it is very likely that they will kill you if you don't give them what they want. Of course if you have been thinking about committing suicide then put up a fight and they will rush the process for you.

 

The guns were stolen. Why would a crook buy a gun when he can steal one?

 

Here's another way to view it - If we were actually living in a nation that the Jussie Smollet incident portrays, the incident from the OP article would receive the attention that the Smollet incident has received.

If they were known to the system then why the **** were they free to walk around. Take away all benefits from the parents and charge them with being accomplices as well.

People steal guns from cops. If a crook wants a gun all he has to do is burglarize three random houses and he will get about a half dozen guns or more. It is risky but doable.

Are the parents supposed to be guilty for the sins of their children? If a parent smacks one of his little rug rats upside the head for being bad it is the parent who will end up in jail. Is Lying Trump going to be in trouble for his kids crimes?

We are discussing the conditions in America. There is an estimated 393 million guns in 50 million households. That's almost 8 guns in each of those households that have guns. So with an estimated 118 million households in the US that works out to slightly less than one out of two households that will have a pile of guns. It is a target rich environment.
