Tell me about the violent insurrection in DC and around the country today

I was just scanning through the news reports and I didn't see anything that lived up to the Phantom Insurrectionist Menace that warranted the presence and expense of 25,000 troops in DC today.

Where were the teeming hordes of seditious Trumpeteers rioting just beyond the razor wire enclosure of the Inaugural Safe Space?

Where were the bloody running battles raging in the streets of the Nation's Capital?

What was the death count?

How many were injured?

What was the estimated property damage?

What's up with the walls - I thought walls didn't work?

Could it be that all the fear-mongering and hyperventilating was just fear-mongering and hyperventilating?

I haven't seen any reports of violence at protests around the country, either.

Evidently, I missed out on the insurrections and violent mayhem that were supposed to happen today, so if you've got any reports please post them here...

It’s amazing what expecting a pardon can do to inspire courage, and what a lack of one can do to instill a sense of fear. Not that I’m calling them cowards for coming to their senses of course.

I wonder if the OP thought that perhaps none of Trump's seditious traitors decided to come to DC today has anything to do with our 25,000 heavily armed National Guard being there and would take those dipshits out fairly easily.

I think the MAGA rioters went in with romantic dreams that they were going to be seen as some kind of hero, and when they woke up the next morning and found the vast majority of the country, including The President, saw them as embarrassing dicks and that they were wanted by the FBI ... I think
That may have been a wake up call.

 

I think there were no riots because Trumpers have finally accepted this was a free and fair election.

It took longer than expected, but I am glad they finally accept Biden as their president.

You know, the insurrectionists are cowards who scattered like cockroaches when a real force was there to counter them... so no wonder they weren't around. But you can be certain that if the soldiers deployed to defend our democratic institutions weren't there, they would have showed up again. Like all bullies, they prey on people when they think people are weak or unprepared, but flee running when real force is displayed against them. Nothing surprising.

 

I think it’s because most of them know full well that their “movement” disgraced itself on Jan 6th. Disgraced itself beyond redemption.

There will always be the true believers who will stand with the skinhead fringe.

It could be just fear mongering and hyperventilating, but more likely its a symbol. They flew in troops from every state and territory when there were more than enough just within driving range. They don't need troops from Alaska there for fear mongering and hyperventilating... but to make a grandoise symbolic announcement - 'we're in charge, freedom is over and this (troops) is how we do.'
