You may be dead-on correct, and I'm not going to challenge your thoughts on this. I don't want to come across as critical of your opinions, I'd just like to understand how biases shape your beliefs in this matter--or how all of us shape our beliefs in similar ways.

We see conflicting information about Assad. Is he really providing for his people, or is he slaughtering them while pretended to take care of them? How would we know this--are we sure we know this? How do we know if those hospitals existed or didn't exist? Who, in such a position of authority, has told us what the motives in all this are? How many of us have spent enough time in Syria recently to make such claims? Are we confusing our beliefs/opinions with objective truth?

Where does your distrust come from? Is there some event that has made you distrust the U.S. and Israeli versions of those events?

The point is that we probably don't know, and for the most part, can't know. We're either going to believe this side or that side. What's called news in such cases never rises above conspiracy theory.

Hayfez Al Assad was big on chemical weapons and had a program called CER back in the 1970s.

Does that make you think Assad is doing the same thing?

Yes. .. for several reasons. Bashar is not really in charge. The police and the military is run by his brother who by all accounts is a complete savage.. He even controls Bashar. This family came from a despised underclass that were poor and not even allowed to testify in court. Now they are rich and powerful. They won't give that up even if they have to kill Bashar and every Syrian.

Assad doesn't do anything for the Syrian people. He never has.. He even mismanaged their water program.

Washington knows damn well Assad has never used illegal chemicals on his people? Seriously?! The UN has confirmed Assad has used illegal chemicals on his people which is why the UN was tasked with removing Assad's stockpiles. Your claim is BS!

I thought that we were in the Persian Gulf because of Iran's threats to close it.

Agreed. Assad had every incentive not to use chemical weapons because Trump wanted to ally with them to rid Syria of ISIS. The alleged chem bomb killed that possibility. So it doesn't make sense that Assad would do that.

According to Greek Defensenews, the Syrian forces are now on high alert. They know the false flag chemical attack by the American backed Al Nusra terrorists is imminent, and will give the FR,UK,US nations the excuse they need to destroy Syria's installations.

I'm going to assume the taking over of the Straits of Hormuz by Iran and China, is a reaction to it. I foresee a war with Iran.

Did Bolton say this out of the blue, or was it in response to its mention elsewhere?

Yes, and look what happens when they do? Think Iraq and Libya for starters?? Dictators are needed in that region otherwise sectarianism will prevail and all hell breaks loose - as Saddam has proved.

I mean that we search out and find information that confirms our biases because we have a problem admitting that what we believe may not be true. That's the default setting of the human brain. If we dismiss sources of information out of hand, label them as fake or any other such name, we are reacting according to our biases and we are not thinking critically.

My first question is always, why is it our business? Is it up to us to decide which faction should rule?
My second question is why no such concern for other places like Myanmar? South America? We only get concerned about such things when the country in question has resources we can profit from.
Let's not even pretend there is some kind of humanitarian interest in removing democratically elected governments and installing petty dictators.

It's in response to the advance of the Syrian forces to free Idlib from the terrorists. The false flag attacks, are meant to keep the war ongoing by giving Washington an excuse to bomb the Syrian forces when they are winning, in support of the terrorists.

This way they can keep them occupied, while Washington consolidates their position east of the Euphrates. This is the area Washington controls under its proxy the Kurds. By taking from Syria its oil and gas rich areas, it will deprive Assad of funds to rebuild Syria. The ultimate goal is to establish an American controlled Kurdistan encompassing parts of Syria and Iraq, with a passage way to the Mediterranean.

The major problem is Turkey, since it threatens its integrity. The largest concentration of Kurds are within its borders, and next to the pseudo American devised Kurdistan - which they will want to join.

The other problem is that the Kurds are not
contiguous to the areas in Syria that Washington wants to establish them in. They and the Americans especially, are highly resented by the locals, who have now organized, and started gorilla warfare against them.

Anyway, that's it in a nutshell.

Claiming in advance that Assad's chemical weapons attacks will be false flags is paving the way for Assad to get away with them in public opinion and deflect from the real reason behind any response from American or other western forces.
