Texas bombing suspect 'shot dead in standoff with FBI and police'

I'm sure people knew him even if it's just to say "Yeah, Mark Conditt. Weird guy. " Searching his house and computer is sure to yield clues to his behavior and goals.

 

Al Qaeda was attacking a well known economic target (the twin towers were the center of financial operations) that would generate huge economic and shock results. IED were used as cheap land mines, against soldiers - not terrorism but part of a military operation primarily which is not classical terroism. Terrorist rarely target soldiers, they target civilians.

Attacks on air planes are not done at random. They chose a target that had high visibility and which impacts international travel and commerce. If it was random he would have just as likely left the bomb off on a random street as chose a plane.

 

Conservatives deny racism exists, liberals think it is a serious problem. One of them is factually correct. There is either serious racism in the US much of it violent or there is not. I will leave it to those who actual follow historical events in the US - and don't inflexibly deny it happens to decide.

This has to be the stupidest statement I ever read. And that's saying something. Of course I didn't, I'm not a LEO. And as far as how I know? If they did decide to take an approach as I suggested, instead of four bombs it would've only been 2(that's just speculation but it's not like there were many bombers in Austin.)

It is now the morning after....

It appears that after apparently making himself very, very obvious to law enforcement officials, after the bomber was run-to-ground outside the motel in Round Rock, Texas, he simply set off two more of his bombs inside his car and blew himself up. Therefore, conferring any kind of 'hero' status for this on either the local police force or the FBI may be way premature, if applicable at all....

Are you claiming it was just a coincidence that he blew himself up just as the police were arriving? What do you think he planned to do with those two bombs you stated he had in his car?

I don't think this was random. Two of the victims, separated by a week and 20 miles or so, we're related and attended the same church. The third victim, it's being stated by the police, wasn't the intended target but another person who is has is or has a relative / business / church connection to the first two victims was the target.

As america bombs the world, an american bombs america. When bombs are outlawed, only outlaws will have bombs. The only way to stop a bad guy with a bomb is via a good guy with a bomb.

 

Umm... I don't think your first statement is true on denial. I do believe however the constant claim of "racism" is well overused and has become a convenient crutch of excuses and political fodder.

I saw a similar report and thought, huh?

 

The story is developing that the law enforcement authorities picked up on his fairly obvious clues (like his amateurish, 'give-away' episode at Fedex) and followed the 'bread crumbs', ultimately, to Round Rock. At that point, they either flushed him out of his motel room, or he spontaneously bolted. After that, it was a fairly routine kind of pursuit in which, realizing that he was going to be caught, the guy blew himself up. Some policemen evidently fired weapons at this idiot's car, but even if they did hit him, he was still able to set off two bombs inside the car, killing himself.

I'm guess deep down, I'm still pissed off at the FBI for that complete botched mishandling of clear-as-daylight leads they had on Nikolas Cruz in Florida, and I will resist any attempt anyone makes now to crown the FBI with a 'laurel wreath' for this Austin idiot killing himself.... The Austin idiot is dead... good! But we'll be fighting the hyperliberal gun-grabbers among us for months to come because the FBI did NOTHING to stop Cruz in Florida!

 

Well, maybe not, but if I were chasing a known bomber an intrusive thought would start to bounce around my head. Kind of a "what in the hell am I doing?!" moment. You know the 'moment' I'm talking about, for me it's a white flash .... and the conscious thought that I'm on the threshold of doing something really really stupid.
