I know that Trump has done more, and obtained more results, than any other US President.

I'm sorry, enlighten me what he's done? Other than empty threats (his best move) just got air (his signature move).

I'm looking directly at the guy who started a thread giving Trump credit for something he hasn't achieved...and then claimed he didn't give Trump that credit

At best, your title is premature. Besides, a treaty between North and South Korea is merely superficial, confirming a 64-year old fact.

Also, there are serious doubts the summit between Trump and Kim will happen. Trump is saying the purpose of the talks is denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. He even lied about it. He tweeted:

    Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Fake News NBC just stated that we have given up so much in our negotiations with North Korea, and they have given up nothing. Wow, we haven’t given up anything & they have agreed to denuclearization (so great for World), site closure, & no more testing!

    5:50 AM - Apr 22, 2018

North Korea has agreed to no such thing. Kim is not about to give up his nuclear weapons or his missiles. He regards them as essential to the survival of the Kim regime.

Everyone seems to know this except Trump. Once he finally learns this lesson, it is likely he will bow out of the talks. He is already laying the groundwork for such an eventuality.

Trump on Thursday morning suggested that some of the elements of his potential summit later this year with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un are up in the air.Well, no kidding. Is he just learning that?

"It could be that I walk out quickly, with respect, but it could be. It could be that maybe the meeting doesn't even take place. Who knows?" Trump told the Trump Network's "Fox and Friends" during a half-hour call-in appearance.

Such a nice picture, the N and S Korean leaders dancing over the curbing. Perhaps there is hope yet of lasting peace there.

And who pushed China into this direction? The President of the United States. In spite of few in this country following the President and being the best versions of themselves they could possibly be, the President has done what he could in spite of the opposition by many Americans which is not political, but shameful.

Kim has decided peace with S. Korea is now a preferable option for 3 reasons. One, the development of N. Korea's nuclear weapons is essentially complete so he is bargaining from a position of greater strength. Two, Chins'a modernization has provided a template showing Kim he can hold on to power while starting to open up his country to the rest of the world. Three, Putin is eager to build a NG pipeline to supply N. Korea with the energy they need.
Kim's family has always been interested in one thing, maintaining power. He may now see the best way to achieve that end as focusing on economic development now that he feels the possession of nuclear weapons makes N. Korea a world power. Don's saber rattling bluster has nothing to do with the 3 factors potentially leading to the end of N-S Korean hostilities.

lol.....Oh, you......my first post already said he'll get credit because he's in the WH but the FACT still remains he had nothing to do with it. I was just looking at pictures of the proceedings yesterday. You know who wasn't pictured?
By the way, the credit will be short lived. When (if) he meets with Kim he'll blow the whole thing up anyway. IMO, he's being set up.

Wait....so not giving credit to the president makes one anti-American? So when many on the Right couldn't give Obama credit for anything were they 'anti-American' too?
You do realize it's very common for people to not want to give credit to a president that doesn't share party affiliation, right? I'm not saying it's right, it's just human nature. BOTH sides do it....it doesn't make them 'anti-American'.
This is part of the problem...both sides are so quick to just label each other as anti-this or anti-that. When did we all start to take ourselves so seriously?

The politics here are fairly obvious.

And this is part of what it look like when the world understands that the President of the United States cannot be trusted, and that his nation has abandoned its role as leader of the free world (something that is a cause of delight in Moscow).

We saw this with Marcon's visit to the US. Macron usurped the diplomatic leadership on Iran away from Trump (who doesn't really understand it and doesn't have a real plan).and placed it firmly in the hands of NATO and the EU,

Kim went to Beijing to confer on strategy.

I suspect that the Chinese told him that Trump is very suceptible to flattery and pomp and circumstance. He also thinks that gestures are reality.

So, they made a deal with the Soeul to make a show of declaring a proposed end to the Korean War, and made sure that they did it well in advance of Trump showing up.

So Trump will show up, take credit for the fact that the Koreas began talking out of fear of an unstable US President, and then go away and give another interview on Fox and Friends.

Meanwhile the Koreas will go back to the 38th parallel bunker and talk, and talk and talk.

Maybe Kim will make a deal.

Will North Korea give up its nuclear weapons?

Almost certainly not, dispite the suggestion. No nation on earth ever has.

And the prospect of a united Korea with nuclear weapons and South Korea's economic power would certainly scare Japan, China and the Russians. And, since Trump has tried to alienate and humiliate both Japan and South Korea, the reality that a united Korea won't feel any particular loyalty to the United States, should concern Washinton too.

But that is about a hundred steps above the Clown Prince's pay grade.

That's far too nuanced and analytical an explanation for the minions. They prefer to think in terms of things that can fit on a bumper sticker. Like.......Drumpf Good, Kim Bad, Yipee America!
