Now he say that Supreme Court justices should be "rotated" so he can get more pro-life judges.

    "
Sanders continued, saying, “I do not believe in packing the court.” But he also said:

I do believe that constitutionally we have the power to rotate judges to other courts. And that brings in new blood into the Supreme Court and a majority, I hope, that will understand that a woman has the right to control her own body and the corporations cannot run the United States of America.

By “packing the court,” he likely meant increasing the number of Supreme Court justices so that a president can make new appointments, as President Franklin Roosevelt recommended but Congress rejected in 1937.

The Democratic-led Senate Judiciary Committee described it as a “declaration” that Congress would respond to rulings it didn’t like by “enlarging the Court.”

Changing the Supreme Court’s composition by rotation rather than by expansion, however, is a distinction without a difference. Its purpose is still to create a majority of justices who will do the political bidding of the president who appointed them."

Nowhere does the Constitution say Justices can be rotated and it explicitly states they are appointed for life. No Bernie as President you can just walk all over the Constitution.

They will only "rotate judges" to suit their bare political ambitions.

The arrow will only point one way.

I am more in favor of term limits for judges of say 20 years. Ginsburg and such are not as sharp as they once were. Besides the Citizen United ruling I don't have much of an issue with a conservative court. If Trump would drain the swamp and put the Anti corruption act into force through congress would go a long way to him getting me on board.

I am a supporter for bernie sanders and i hope he wins the nomination. But on this issue i think he is wrong. That would errode the separation of powers between the 3 branches of govt. who would decide which judges are chosen to be rotated around? I dont know if he made the specifics of that clear. I dont see this happening anyway.

I wonder if Bernie Freeshit Sanders would say the same if Hillary Clinton had the chance to put two judges on the SC.

Honestly, if the republicans knew they could get away with it, they would do anything to maintain majority control of the supreme court if given the chance. Republicans fight dirty to get what they want. If thats how its going to be democrats need to grow sone balls and get dirty too. I still think its a bad idea to rotate supreme court justices, but playing nice and looking like you are reasonable is why the democrats suck at winning elections.

Just stop with the projections on Republicans and deal with what Sander's actually said he could and would do.

I wonder what he would say if Trump suddenly tweated "Hey Bernie good idea I think I'll rotate Ginsburg off the court tomorrow".

i'm in favor of rotating choices, keeping in mind that they still need to be confirmed, so we'd end up with the same old same old... a better way would be for each party to nominate someone, have those nominees debate publicly, on every channel, at least 3 times & then hold a public vote

i'll qualify the above with... same goes for every position that's a lifetime position... these are the folks that have been 'running' our country for decades, not the 4-6 year termers ;)

So he appoints John Roberts to an open seat on the eighth circuit. Would Roberts accept the demotion? Even Andrew Jackson didn't try that. He had Marshall murdered.

I wonder when the media will press him on this one?
And I would bet money that every conservative here complaining about this would support trump if he tried it.

Because Repubs don't totally reorganize lawmaking powers in states when they become lame ducks so the new Dem government can't actually do anything? lol

    Stop projecting.

Bernie is not going to be allowed the nomination, c'mon we all know that, but if by some miracle he did get it, even the media will turn on him and bring out the long knives, he is dumb as a rock, dangerous to our freedoms and would crash and burn this economy, and EVERYONE would lose with that moron in the white house. I know BernieBros love their freeshit but he has offered zero economic ideas that would ever work.

I believe they need to pass a law that no citizen can get elected to the office of President of The United States after the age of 75. We need more Pro-Alive Candidates. :unclesam:

Bernie wants to consolidate and concentrate power, not separate it.
