For all of you with access to the NYT you can read the whole article for yourselves. To summarize for those who don't, an incident in IN was used to amplify the false accusation of voter fraud through the use of social and mainstream media. It was not an isolated case. These efforts are deceitful, unpatriotic, and represent another attempt by Repubs to thwart the will of the majority.

A New York Times Magazine investigation, based on a review of thousands of pages of court records and interviews with more than 100 key players — lawyers, activists and current and former government officials — found an extensive effort to gain partisan advantage by aggressively promoting the false claim that voter fraud is a pervasive problem."

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — It appears that an election worker’s decision to throw out nine military ballots in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, amounted to a mistake and not “intentional fraud,” the state’s top elections official said Wednesday.

Workers in the elections office in Luzerne County are getting training on handling mailed-in military and overseas ballots, Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar said during an online news conference.

“The investigation is still going on, but from the initial reports we’ve been given, this was a bad error,” said Boockvar, a member of Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration. “This was not intentional fraud. So training, training, training.”

Now all you have to do is figure out how a a few thousand ballots here and there were mailed out already filled out. Several thousand in NYC were mailed out with mismatched addresses and other irregularities that would get those ballots discarded.

 

Unfortunately amplifying and fabricating false "scandals" is the only resource Trump has. So we will see many of those in October.

Prediction. Trump will have an early lead because most of the votes counted will be in person. Over the weeks following the election, the democrats will be accusing the republicans of voter fraud because many mail votes will be thrown out for various other reasons.

The main voter fraud needs to change is political party sitting out fake ballots.

In 2016 Ted Cruz's campaign sent fake absentee ballots with the wrong address to send it to and the wrong date for the deadline to Democrat voters. Several hundred voters leaving these were real ballots sent them in and were not counted.

There was a call to have Ted Cruz charged with felony voter fraud and election fraud, which would have gotten him 15 years in prison

You think poll workers tabulate votes faster than a machine? In my county, last time
(2016) mail in ballots took 10 minutes after poll closing to tabulate. They estimate that with the increase in mail in voting it could take up to 30 minutes to count them all. That's 30 minutes ahead of Florida polls officially closing. So they'll have to sit around for about 30 minutes to make results public.

Of course these are estimations.

 

My vote in person count is by a machine. They only go to manual counting for in person voting, if there is a dispute. All mail in votes are counted manually. Most states I have been associated with are similar.
