Ri-i-i-ight. Which is why Hitler made sure to put the socialists in concentration camps before he even thought about going after the Jews... [IMG]

Hitler came into power primarily because of the Russian socialist movement, and to do it he used many of the same strategies and promises (hence the name of his party.) His government was actually closer to fascism than socialism, but it highlights yet another reason not to believe politicians that promise you the world.

I'm of the opinion, however, that left/right isn't the battle that matters, it is authority vs liberty and the American left has moved far more authoritarian than the right, evidenced by the left's hatred of anyone of differing opinion and their almost complete control of such institutions as media, academia and entertainment.

Explain the nation of Venezuela, where the people have no food, clean water, toilet paper, or medical supplies.

I now history perfectly well especially that of WW2, we are discussing economics not history, learn the difference.

    "
As an economic system, fascism is socialism with a capitalist veneer. The word derives from fasces, the Roman symbol of collectivism and power: a tied bundle of rods with a protruding ax. In its day (the 1920s and 1930s), fascism was seen as the happy medium between boom-and-bust-prone liberal capitalism, with its alleged class conflict, wasteful competition, and profit-oriented egoism, and revolutionary Marxism, with its violent and socially divisive persecution of the bourgeoisie. Fascism substituted the particularity of nationalism and racialism—“blood and soil”—for the internationalism of both classical liberalism and Marxism."

Where socialism sought totalitarian control of a society’s economic processes through direct state operation of the means of production, fascism sought that control indirectly, through domination of nominally private owners. Where socialism nationalized property explicitly, fascism did so implicitly, by requiring owners to use their property in the “national interest”—that is, as the autocratic authority conceived it. (Nevertheless, a few industries were operated by the state.) Where socialism abolished all market relations outright, fascism left the appearance of market relations while planning all economic activities. Where socialism abolished money and prices, fascism controlled the monetary system and set all prices and wages politically. In doing all this, fascism denatured the marketplace. Entrepreneurship was abolished. State ministries, rather than consumers, determined what was produced and under what conditions.

Given that you feel oppressed by the Capitalist system, what
Communist/Socialist nation do you want to move to?

I suggest a flat tax regime. Say 30% for everybody, even those earning $100
a week. But the welfare is progressive instead of the tax. So your $100 a week
worker gets a tax rebate of generous welfare benefits more than they earned.
Any rich person wanting to claim poverty can only gain the welfare benefit.

As it is, the rich carry a disproportionate amount of a nation's tax. I think this
amount in NYC is about 30% of all city revenue.

You haven't answered. I suggest maybe you would be fine in the newly minted
Socialist nation of Venezuela. You can go there and help the regime confiscate
land holdings, guard to border to stop people fleeing, prop up the military or
    help security.

There's a simple answer. Ideological parties hate each more than their supposed enemies.
They are, in effect, all fishing from the same limited swamp.
If I recall the Nazi Party was called the Workers Party at one stage, and it was called the
National Bolsheviks. Thus Field Marshall Goering was once a National Bolshevik.
This party believed in controlling the means of production, as opposed to what you could
call the "International Bolsheviks" who sought to own the means of production.
Also with Russia it was land more than ideology that prompted the Russian war.

They were ALL to blame, Poohbear, but nobody deserved blame more than a docile government and a manipulating central bank, the "Fed", for rescuing all these irresponsible, conniving bastards that were declared to be "too big to fail". ALL of them should have been allowed to go belly-up and down into a chasm of bankruptcy -- period!

The old saying that "trash floats on top" was true during the so-called 'Great Recession' of 2008, and, it's even more accurate now. Republicans will move heaven and earth to save the stock market gamblers, and everybody else can go straight to hell. And Democrats? They just look the other way, while dreaming up more and more handout welfare programs and "subsidies" to buy votes with.

Meanwhile, what I've described as the "Rational American Middle-Class" just gets screwed over, again and again. The rich are catered to, and the poor are catered to. If you're a 'middle-class' citizen who has responsibly put money away in a savings account for "a rainy day", BEND OVER! :buggered:

    This is serious clichéd text.
The Left love slogans, so let's invent a new one just for that GFC,
let's call it "Too poor to fail."

ie Poor people can't fail. So loan them money that under normal
circumstances they would not be eligible for. This was social
engineering via Fanny May, Freddy Mack and the general financial
    institutions.
IF A GOVT FORCES YOU TO GIVE BAD LOANS THEN THE GOVT
SHOULD BE FORCED TO BAIL YOU OUT WHEN THE LOANS FAIL.

There, you won't hear that in the "Capitalist Press", will you?

Why? All it is, is an example of what covert policies of interference by corrupt, contemptible nations can do to a sovereign country that is minding its own business.

Ah! That's what you mean. You need some factual education on it. There is no "communist/socialist nation".

Here's a shocker for you to ponder and it will test your actual factual knowledge of the subject: Communism cannot be imposed on a nation by force. Is your pondering capacity up to it?

Communism by force (Soviet troops) was forced on the Chinese
    (initially to support Mao)
Communism was forced upon South Vietnam.
Communism tried to force itself upon South Korea.

If there's "no Communism" then there's no Capitalism either.

Don't you see it amongst ideological groups?
This is what causes Green groups (think Germany) to fly apart.
And how many variants of Communism do we have? They hate
each other more than they hate Capitalists - there's Libertarian
Communism, Maoism, Trotskyism, Leninism, Stalinism, Council
Communism etc.. This is where the conflict between Mao and
the USSR began, and North Vietnam vs Cambodia etc..

There's competition here for who has the "truth." They are all
fishing in the same pool, swimming in the same swamp.
Mussolini was admired by Lenin. Stalin signed a treat with
Hitler. German trade unions were torn between national and
    international Socialism.

I don’t think you understand what socialism is if you think it would be “supported” by the government. Also, why is it “my socialism“? I do not in any way support socialism.

So you don’t think the government injecting billions and lowers interest rates to those seen in a depression effect the economy? FFS

Wages are stagnant for lower and middle class workers compared to both productivity and buying power. How much of the employment gains were people taking on part time jobs? Answer. Low inflation is because of the FED. 3% was unacceptable during the Obama administration but now it is “great”, get real...

Interest rates are set by the Federal Reserve and not a partnof the government budget.

They increased under Republican polices and fell and stagnated under Democrat. People have been, before the virus, filling good paying full time jobs we had a glut if them which was one of the factors increasing wages and salaries and those increases the highest at the bottom.

Do you think interest rates effect the economy?

    This is an outright lie.
