    1+1=2

    1) subsistence means barely enough to live. A bad crop means millions slowly starve to death
    2) when industrial revolution started in England and now China people raced to the cities for the jobs because they were literally starving to death most of the time. Did you think the Girl Scouts forced them to take the new jobs?

    • OMG this is your best example of capitalism killing people???????????????????????????????

Actually its an example of a military program and has nothing to do with capitalism. All countries have militaries regardless of their economic system. This is 1+1=2 level

I know what subsistence means. I still had no problem putting it up against what many want to run from now.

as I said millions and millions in England and China raced to the cities for the chance to avoid starvation. And when they wrote home about how great it was millions and millions more came. Now do you understand?

How else do you think arch-capitalist are securing resources in other regions of the world? You've learned something today. Capitalism must always acquire access to new resources and markets. If the locals don't play nice, the military jumps in.

Check out the confessions of an economic hit man documentary. Capitalist don't go to wars and overthrow regimes for lolz. It's for resources...

actually drone strikes are in Afghanistan and yemen where they have no resources. As I said all countries have militaries whether capitalist or not. Got it now?

Actually any person or country must do that if they want to get richer rather than poorer! Do you understand now?

I agree with your overall sentiment, but I disagree with the notion that social systems are ever "tried" like in a laboratory.

I challenge you to do so, but make sure you can prove it, guesses don't count, and neither does left wing propaganda. Only empirically proved numbers like the easily proved numbers of Soviets murdering millions upon millions of their people, and the FASCIST SOCIALISM another 30 to 40 million of their people, and the millions Chinese SOCIALIST murdered during their socialist years. I dare you to prove me wrong or your propaganda correct.

What are you talking about Ted? Afghanistan has the poppy and Yemen has oil, natural gas, and minerals!! The conflicts in Afghanistan go back a while in time protecting drug operations and I don't know what rationale was used in Yemen, but for its oil.

they were tried in 132 countries which is about the best experimentation possible on earth. Only a liberal would have the low IQ to want to go for 133.

False. Capitalism is a consuming-based economy. In order for it to perform well, it must always find resources and markets. Meaning no coasting ever. Other systems are far more self sufficient where it doesn't have to consume all the time. Understand?

Don't know what you mean. We got the atomic bomb through command economics, not capitalism.

We won the war and got full employment and ended the great depression, through command economics, not capitalism.

It merely depends on a good plan and good management.

They also have terrorists hiding behind civilians. If the civilians don't leave the known terrorists they are guilty by omission, and I have no sympathy for them. When terrorists love their families as much as they like killing innocent people, they will stop their terrorism or their families will die.

    Very true.

    - - - Updated - - -

There's always some bogeyman when a system is ever in need of war to support itself. "Terrorists", "commies", etcetera.

A warfare-State always needs, "enemies of the State" to justify the need for our exorbitantly expensive, superpower.

They were completely ineffective (indeed did great economic damage) and resulted in maintaining the unemployment level at 15% or greater until WWII. How can it possibly be claimed otherwise? What do you claim were the lasting benefits of these ill conceived programs based on Soviet style command/control central planning.

Alaska is no such example of socialism. Again it seems those who advocate socialism do not understand what it is. The economy of Alaska is based on capitalism. The tax revenues from the oil companies result in a refundable tax rebate for Alaska citizens.

If you want to use Nazi Germany as a shining example of the results of socialism be my guest. The command & control planning by the central Nazi gov allocated the majority of capital to militarization and the war effort at the extreme detriment of the German people. After WWII was over it is easy to see the success of capitalism (West Germany) vs. the failure of socialism - command/control (East Germany).

That proves nothing. My son spent 6 weeks in Heyuan last year and is going back for another month in mid July. It is a beautiful area. The entire country of China is not represented by a few photos of Chinese citizens wearing breathing masks.

The fundamental problem is that for a command/control system to work it needs a very strong leader - like Stalin, Mao, Chavez. What could go wrong ??

Capitalism died in 1929. What part of that does the right not get. Socialism is like Palmolive now, we are soaking in it.

Simply special pleading for appeals to emotion all the right has.

Yet every country with state socialism/communism has failed because it make economic slaves of the people. He is going to have to prove,"Yes they now consume more cars and movies than we do here thanks to the greatest economic miracle in human history." during socialism. It only happened after shucking the evils of socialism and communism before any of that happened. My experience traveling though the USSR and later China, those things did not exist during the era of socialism. Period! Let him show me the studies and statistics. In case you are curious, I lived in India for two years, 1952 and 1953 and I spent 16 years in Europe witnessing some of the so called "wonders" of of Eastern Europe. The only country which comes even a little bit successful was Tito's Yugoslavia, and had it not been for the strength of small capitalistic business, the country would have gone bankrupt.

Absolutely equine excrement. Capitalism is still the most profitable economic system spreading many times the personal wealth to more people than any other system.
