As far as I see it, he had two choices. Scream louder than Trump, or sit back and watch Trump blab nonstop for 90 minutes.

Someone suggested he remain calm and appeal to Trump's sense of fairness. How was he supposed to do that?

Trump's inability to be quiet for 120 seconds is all we need to understand about his cognitive abilities. He can't even follow rules HE agreed to.

To address the 2nd part of your post, first: I think I've already pointed out that not following the rules clearly was Trump's plan which-- follow me here-- is a more logical strategy than honoring your word to observe rules that one believes guarantee one's defeat. I am certainly not making a case for Mr. Trump's decency. However, you are using what is clearly an objection to Trump's character, to try to support a claim against his, "cognitive abilities," (which is illogical ). I don't know how much of the debate you were able to stomach, but trust me, Trump kept up his obstruction, effectively, to the very end, w/o ever missing a beat; so much, for the oft-repeated charge that Trump is incapable of maintaining his focus on anything for more than a few minutes.

Now, for your initial argument. You can only see two possibilities: checkmate for Biden, either way. Luckily, no offense, you are not the President. Nor, however, am I running for that position, so it is as unreasonable to expect ME to solve this problem-- which neither Biden, nor any of his highly-paid consultants (from the vantage point of my own typical salary range) has yet to solve-- as it would be to ask me how we should deal w/ North Korea's Kim Jong Un, or with the issue of the Russians putting a bounty on the heads of American soldiers, or any of the many, multi-faceted, complex problems for which an, "all we can do is, 'this,' or, 'that,' " approach is inadequate. And yet we hope for, or even expect, our President, w/ all his advisors, to FIGURE IT OUT. That's what Biden needs to do now, to show he can creatively strategize to solve conundrums even more challenging than this one.

Please don't continue to assume what exact choices I'm expecting Biden to select from (& make work) based on your own limited view of options. Trump did not WANT to debate. If he, one way or another, prevents true debate w/o suffering much damage from those who are presently his likely voters, then Trump has won the engagement. In other words, Biden has lost it. To maintain that Biden will be successful in negotiating w/ China over market access, intellectual-property rights, cyber security, & so on, because they won't have the ability to tie Biden's hands the way that Trump has, is an argument that neither holds water nor supports the contention that Trump is an idiot despite, regardless of how base his method, having out-smarted Biden's plan.

Trump is afraid to take on opponents. Gotcha.

That said, that you think I am pro Biden makes you unqualified to have a rational discussion with me.

Yeah, Mrs. Trump, sounds to me like you're, "afraid to take on," this opponent-- Gotch-yaself! But, anyone of intellect reading my well-reasoned posts & your facile arguments would agree that your bowing out, while pretending you have gotten the better of me, is your most logical choice.

By the way, I never said you were, "pro Biden;" I addressed your specific comments about Trump & Biden vis-a-vis the debate, which 1) is meant to help voters decide who to vote for as POTUS, and 2) was only between Trump & Biden!

My replies to you were a courtesy. Unfortunately, the President would get no lesson in tact from your manner of exit. May I suggest you use some of the time you save, not trying to come up with competent replies to arguments that surpass your reasoning abilities, for a course to improve reading comprehension? And if you plan on voting for a 3rd party, I hope you don't live in a potentially purple state.

Derrrrr, what? I can't comprehend you, I'm too stupid to understand what Trump really meant when he called me a loser. Silly me, I thought it meant I was a loser. Tell me, then, what he meant. Can I buy your super secret Trump verbal diarrhea decoder ring?

That reply, F.Y.I., is total gibberish. It is non sequitur to my post, which it supposedly addresses. It does show, though, that you were correct in your post #128, when you said that I was, "not qualified to have a rational discussion with (you):" NOBODY IS (just read this reply of yours).

P.S.-- Words to live by-- do you recognize the author?--

It's okay to have your own opinion, and not worry about what your team's talking points memo says. Honest. It's okay to see both the good and bad in a person, and not have to lower yourself to hypocrisy in order to protect your team.
(My addition: even if you claim not to have a team).

Or a hearing aid. But, I know, that wouldn't be nearly as sensational a story.

Bat Boy was feeding Biden the answers.

Biden is merely a front for Bat Boy and the Illuminati to take over the World.

As soon as Biden Wins, Bat Boy will be the Real Power and Taylor Swift will be installed as First Lady.

That is why Trump has been running scared of Bat Boy.

^I am glad that I was able to lay out a scenario that is EXPONENTIALLY More Plausible than Trump's Absurdist Conspiracies.

Anyway, back (on topic) to the debates:

Harris-Pence should be a good matchup.

Even though Harris will completely Outclass Pence (in intellect and every other conceivable metric), we won't have to put up with Trump (that Mentally-Deranged, Bloated Orange IDIOT) constantly screaming and interrupting.

That Divine Hand can deal cards that seem pretty shetty, sometimes, though. Tough to know what's really up its sleeve; (can I get an, "Amen?" And a, "speedy recovery," for our President, & 1st Lady).

    DEBATE RESULTS COMING IN--

Well those who called the Debate for Biden seem to've called it right. The latest NBC/Wall St. Journal poll, taken after the debate but before the President's Covid diagnosis, shows Biden to've widened his lead. One caveat, however is that the population sample had a 9% advantage of Democratic voters over Republicans, which is 3 - 4% more than in their previous polls.

The big story, I think, is the huge swing of voters over 65, according to the poll, who apparently reached their limit for Trump's style in the debate & shifted to Biden. Biden's lead w/ seniors went from +4% to +27%.
Older voters, it should be noted, have historically been the most dependable voter demographic. Only time will tell what, if any, effect Covid-19 will have on the voter turnout numbers. Voters who said Biden perfomed better at the debate than did the President outnumbered those who said Trump had been better, by a 2-to-1 margin. Likewise, for the question about which if the men had the better temperament to be President.
    From NBC's analysis:

The biggest declines for Trump were among seniors (who now back Biden by 62 percent to 35 percent) and suburban women (58 percent to 33 percent).

And men 50 years and older moved to a 1-point advantage for Biden in the latest poll, compared to a 13-point advantage for Trump in the pre-debate NBC News/WSJ poll.

All things work together for good to those who believe and are called to His purpose.

Hey Def.....I'm getting around to answer the big question. The answer is, I don't know the mind of God and what He will do. I do make an effort, through my "relationship" to understand His "Character and His desires. I do spend a lot of time talking prayerfully with others about their relationship and it does give me a "feel" for what I can do better. It's a lot like I am with my wife. I never can predict exactly what she will do but have an idea what she likes and how she will respond. God doesn't always respond the way I would like Him to.....but He always works in my best interest.

I had been referring-- in both this & my other post that mentions your, "Divine Hand--" to the larger-scale type of things you were alluding to when you said:

"As far as odds go, I do believe in a 'divine hand' as did President Washington and I believe miracles happen.
We are foolish to think we have things under our control in this world."

I imagined you were talking about the fate of our country. But I also think that you support Trump fairly strongly and/or, are at least very much against Biden & the Democratic, "agenda." What I'd been trying to get at, I guess tip-toeing too lightly around, was how do you know that God is actually for Trump, & that you aren't just assuming that God sees things the same way as you do? And the other side of that coin is, if Biden wins, will you feel that he must be God's choice, necessitating your giving your full support to his plans?

Honestly? My feeling if Biden wins it is only because we need a scourge in this Nation to rob us of our individual liberty for a period. A time of suffering is often good in the end for God's people. I don't want Donald Trump to be my "Valentine", my Pastor, or Prince Charming. He is not Mr. popularity as a high school Presidential candidate might be. He will be my Leader, though not very soft spoken, he will stand up to the lies of media and foreign leaders. He holds Nations accountable and looks after those he leads.
He stands up for the defenseless, the unborn.

Def, I can expound on my belief in "individual liberty" and it's justification as opposed to the "collective", but I just feel it should be rather apparent to most. I think if Believers do what they are called to do, God will hear, and we will maintain our rights. The Courts will not be packed, and new States will not be assigned so as to tilt the balance of power. Law will be "enacted" by elected officials accountable to their electorate and not by the courts. If we fail.......it must be viewed as a hard lesson to learn.
