Who said anything about conquering other nations ? This is a deflection from reality. The ability to project power does not require the projector to be conquering other nations. The cost of our projection of power is bankrupting us. What is even more nonsensical is that our ability to project power is largely a myth. This myth keeps the pockets of the international financiers that control our foreign policy agenda full but, for the rest of us slobs - it is bankrupting the nation.

NATO members can step up all they like - we will still spend spend spend.

 

The American Decline:
Well, if you know about it, don't let it go.

Of course, it would mean you would first have to understand what it is that's declining and why. And personally, I don't think you have a clue except for some vague feelings about the necessity for sacrifice and selflessness for the greater good. And that just ain't gonna do it, fella.

While I'd much rather a third party candidate win the election for president, sadly I think a democrat will most likely win in 2020. Whether a republican or democrat wins, America loses.

I realize that, a lifetime its not enough to see all the great places, things and people in the US. It's as vast as the whole continent of Europe in territory. I havent seen all European countries, and I believe most Americans haven't set foot in all theirs.

I believe you, as in Americans, are ranked 1st in mobility, you change where you live within the country pretty often and on a larger scale, unlike Europeans in Europe. The changing demographic in Europe is not fluid and natural, a time when European nations ceded borders for themselves, external immigration did not stop but increased substantially. A big error at the very wrong time, forming a identity(European) would have taken just time.

No one supports open borders. The alternative is not barbed wires and walls.

 

I am wondering if DJT is trying to set up a situation on the Mexican border similar to what they have in Gaza. A situation in which US troops can fire at will at unarmed peasants. Donald and Bibi are best of friends, and maybe Donald wants to emulate Bibi?

The caravans already place the children at the front. The other 80% (single men under 30) stay behind. But at least they’re not launching rockets into the U.S. so far.

 

The Dutch, Spain and Britain tried to hold onto their many colonies which cost them huge amounts of money. Vietnam was France's last colony. The US has no colonies except for one, maybe, Puerto Rico. Because the US has never had colonies it technically cannot be referred to as an empire.

 

It took Germanic tribes 1,075 years to finally conquer Rome. All the while Rome was fighting other barbaric tribes which greatly weakened Rome overtime.
