Get rid of it. It will save a lot of money. We can just have Los Angeles and NYC vote and then that's it. The rest of the country be damned.

What are dems going to say this go around when Trump wins both the popular vote and Electoral vote? I doubt any of us will remind you all of all your whining.

Wrong the voters do that. The President has plenary power in foreign policy. The Congress approves or rejects treaties. And as Ambassador Kent testified the State Official was VERY concerned about the corruption in Ukraine and sending the money there but it eventually was after the Presidents concerns were assuaged and Ukraine never knew the difference, no quid pro quo.

A simple search and a little reading will show that you're wrong regarding Congressional oversight of the President. I suspect you're intransigent on the subject though so I'm done with it. Besides, we've gotten way off of the original topic.

Also, there are plenty of other threads about the impeachment. That discussion doesn't need to take place here.

I live in the Midwest. We don't want California and New York alone choosing our president.

A simple search will show otherwise, the President does not work for, is not confirmed by, nor reports to the Congress. Presidents report to and work for the People. Congress can impeach and remove. They are coequal. Congress oversees the various departments and cabinet officials they confirm.

And the Great Compromise to balance the power of the States who elect the President, you do know the People don't elect the President and if your state legislature decided it would rather choose the electors they could do so and you would have no constitutional standing to challenge that. So some States could do as now and other States could do different because it is the States that elect the President

The founders assumed that it would be rare that any candidate reached the number of votes required and that the house would elect the president most of the time. You give the founders to much credit for being super smart when they had to have 2 amendments almost instantly be proposed because of a typo in article 3 and the brokenness of the electoral college.

It's time we move to westminster style of government that allows for multiple parties and efficient government.

Which 38 of the sovereign states do you think will agree to alter the treaty as you suggest?

Don't need to just need to get enough states to reach 270 and then the NPVC will defacto end the electoral college.
