Like the Phillipines, Byelorussia, Brazil or recently Hungary. France sent soldiers. Russia did very little but after we had spent all the money and lives they moved in at the end and took over much of what should have been our gains in the area with Trump's full cooperation and encouragement. It was so smooth one would almost think that Trump and Putin had planned it that way all along

Another republican economic fiasco, this will be ten of the last eleven. Another unplanned, Ill prepared for “invasion” where the trump lead dullards do nothing but whine because like little drama queens, they have nothing else to do but give tax breaks to the rich while everyone suffers from their ineptitude.

 

Fully agree that they are after much more than the president, but their focus is the president since he is a more convenient target that they can attack directly; the other targets have to be obtuse and indirect.

I think the right wing constitutional base wants to fight back but they have limited resources to do so. The Republican leadership have long acquiesced to the inside the beltway fraternity and are amiable with their fraternity brothers, and comfortable with sharing power even as number two and even at the expense of the country. McConnell is more than happy to spend us into oblivion for instance. Trump is honest, direct, and calls a spade a spade and is not a member of the fraternity which is why he is disliked by so many GOP leaders.

IMO the Convention of the States movement is maybe our only hope. It is making progress but it is a slog getting the state legislatures to agree to a call for a Convention, and it is running out of time. That despite that most states are against the Democrat/left stuff and do not like the power of the central federal government -- except in those brief instances when Washington declares Christmas.

To complete the depression, once our individual rights are gone and the people suddenly wake, realize that the promised nirvana was without substance, and say 'what the hell just happened', it is too late and virtually impossible to get those rights back.

 

TRUMP SHOULD EXTRADITE ERIC HOLDER: Mexico asks U.S. for answers over historic gun-running row.

Mexico’s president on Friday urged the United States to shed light on a gun-running sting that caused bilateral friction under the Obama presidency, questioning the behavior of past U.S. administrations for the third time this week.​

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said his government would send a diplomatic note to Washington for information on the 2009-2011 operation known as ‘Fast and Furious,’ a topic that has resurfaced in recent days amid a debate over historic U.S.-Mexico cooperation on security and possible corruption under previous administrations.​

Setting out to stop cross-border gun smuggling, the Obama Administration scheme allowed people to illegally buy arms in the United States and take them to Mexico. Some weapons were later used for gangland slayings in Mexico.​

“How could this be? A government that invades in this way, that flagrantly violates sovereignty, international laws,” Lopez Obrador said at his daily news conference.​

To avoid a repeat, the matter needed to be cleared up, said Lopez Obrador, who noted that President Donald Trump had last year been “respectful” to Mexico in discussions over joint co-operation following two major security incidents.​

It was a scheme to send traceable guns to Mexico where their use in crime would be an excuse for stricter gun laws in America. It was another political abuse of law enforcement power, of the sort that was common under Obama, and the Trump Administration should help Mexico get to the bottom of it, and ensure that the wrongdoers are punished appropriately.
